					Conditions of Entry
Run in accordance with the current Pony Club Rules. Age of riders: as at 1st January 2009. Hunting jackets or Cross Country Colours should be worn. Long sleeves are compulsory. Hats must be worn at all times while mounted with the chinstrap correctly fastened. Those marked as follows are allowed: PASO15 1998, EN 1384 1996 BSEN 1384 1997 (all with BSI Kitemark). Snell E2001 with official Snell label & number. AS/NZS 3838 1998 or AS/NZS 3838 2003 with SAI Global. Please note that SEI is not approved for Pony Club Competitions. Pony Club members must have helmets with a hat tag. Earrings, studs and other body jewellery must not be worn. Stop Watches are not permitted. An effective body protector must be worn. The organisers reserve the right to close or cancel a class or the event, refuse an entry, withhold a prize or disqualify a competitor for any reason they deem necessary. In the event of cancellation £3 per entry will be retained for admin costs. No horse/pony may compete more than once in any one class. Stallions only by prior agreement. Identifying discs must be worn. Outside assistance to any horse, pony or rider whilst on the course is forbidden and will result in elimination. However help may be given to a competitor, following a fall, to catch their horse/pony and remount. If a competitor receives first aid whilst competing they will only be allowed to continue if the paramedics consider they are fit to do so. Any misuse of the whip, failure to obey an order from a judge or steward or discourteous behavior may result in elimination. Any horse jumping HC must remain so for the rest of the competition. After 3 refusals at any one fence a rider may continue at the discretion of the fence judge, but must not in any way impede other competitors. Dogs must be kept on short leads and under control at all times, and young children must be supervised. The Judge’s decision is final. Objections must be handed to the Secretary, in writing, with a deposit of £10 which may be retained if the objection is not upheld, within 15 minutes of the results being posted. The Pony Club Third Party Legal Liability does not apply to those who are not members of the Pony Club. The organisers have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards. Legal Liability: save for the death or personal injury caused by negligence of the organisers or any one for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of any event to which these rules apply, nor the British Horse Society, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accept any liability for any accident or loss to owners, riders, spectators, land, cars their contents and accessories or in any other way whatsoever.

This event is a qualifier for the Finals of the South Essex Insurance Brokers BHS Cross Country Championships 2010. In the nominated qualifying classes, the TWO highest placed riders (or two highest placed Pairs) who are BHS Gold Members ON THE DAY OF THE QUALIFIER will qualify for the Final. In the event of a combination of horse/pony and rider already having qualified, the qualification will pass down to the next eligible competitor. You must provide the Entries Secretary with your BHS membership number when you enter the qualifier but we recommend you also carry your membership card on the day. Non-members may enter qualifying classes but will not be eligible to qualify. Horses registered for British Eventing Horse Trials in 2009/10 are NOT eligible to qualify for the Finals ('BE Day Tickets' are acceptable). Rules at qualifiers may differ from those at the Finals. Classes at the Finals will be Novice and Pairs (both max 2'9"), and Open (max 3'3"). Number Bibs:

A £5 deposit will be required for Number Bibs of which £2 will be kept as a contribution to ambulance expenses Friday 25th September 2009. Entries will not be accepted without the correct fee. Late entries/entries on the day £3 extra, only accepted if classes not full. Telephone entries at the discretion of the secretary. No entry will be refunded after the closing date without a medical or veterinary certificate. £3 will be retained for admin costs. Friday 2nd October. Class 1: Fences approx 70cm (2'3") and not to exceed 76cm (2'6")
Pairs Minimus Hunter Trial (several dressing fences will be included). Class will be divided into Open Pairs/Child Pairs (12yrs & under)/ Adult & Child Pairs.

This is a qualifier for the Finals of the BHS Cross Country Championships 2010 (Novice Pairs).

Class 2: Fences approx 70cm (2'3") and not to exceed 76cm (2'6")
Open Individual. Riders any age. If Class size permits to be divided into 12 yrs & under and over 12 yrs.
Course Open:

This is a qualifier for the Finals of the BHS Cross Country Championships 2010 (Novice).
Entry Fee: £15 (Brecon Members £13) Rosettes to 6th Place

Class 3: Fences approx 85cm (2'9") and not to exceed 90cm (2'11)
Open Pairs (several dressing fences will be included). Entry Fee: £22per pair (Brecon Members £20) Rosettes to 6th place

Medical Armbands must be worn when competing
These can be purchased from Pony Club HQ and some will be available on the day

Class 4: Fences approx 85 cm (2'9") and not to exceed 90 cm (2'11
