									Dedicated School Buses
The School currently operates five dedicated return bus services for pupils in the Forfar, Blairgowrie, St Andrews, Arbroath and Perth areas. There is also a dedicated return-only service to Invergowrie / Inchture / Longforgan. Matters relating to the dayto-day running of the services should be referred to the transport supervisor via the main School Office. Current charges for all services may be found in the table of fees. Parents may pay in advance, either at the beginning of the session or at the beginning of each term. Where tuition fees are paid in ten monthly instalments, bus charges may be included in the monthly payment, provided that parents commit to use the service for the entire school session. Junior School pupils who finish before the departure time of 15.55 will be cared for in school without charge until 15.55. On Fridays the buses leave the school at 15.35 and will arrive at their respective destinations approximately half an hour earlier than on Mondays to Thursdays. Additional details of fares, routes and timings are available from the School Office. It should be noted that these services are primarily intended for pupils travelling on a ‘return’ basis and the offer of a ‘single’ fare place is discretionary. Priority will also be given to pupils in the Junior School. • Field days On days when senior pupils are at Mayfield / Dalnacraig in the afternoon, the Forfar, Blairgowrie and Arbroath buses will pick them up at their respective games locations. Pupils using the Perth and St Andrews services will be bussed back to the school, leaving Mayfield sharp at 15.40, making pick-ups at Dalnacraig if required. It is the responsibility of the pupils to get changed promptly to make this connection. On arrival at the school they will join their regular buses. Emergency arrangements It would be helpful if passengers and / or parents could inform a fellow user if their children will not be travelling that day. This will prevent the driver waiting unnecessarily at a pick-up point. In the unlikely event of pupils missing the bus at 16.00, they must report immediately to the School Office where appropriate alternative arrangements will be made for their safe return. In the event of a parent being unable to pick up their child as anticipated it is essential that the child in question has an alternative arrangement such as staying with a friend or neighbour.

Parents should not attempt to ‘chase’ a bus they have missed in the morning and attempt to flag it down. The drivers are instructed by their own companies not to stop in this situation for safety reasons. While the inconvenience this may cause is appreciated, it is beyond the jurisdiction of the School. • Discipline on buses Pupils are expected to obey the school rules (as stated in the Manual) while travelling to and from school. Pupils must remain seated and wear seatbelts at all times. Pupils should obey any instructions issued by the driver who on most occasions will be the ‘adult in charge’. They should also co-operate with the designated bus monitor to ensure the smooth operation of the service. The drivers and bus monitors are encouraged to report any misdemeanours directly to the school. Possible sanctions may include suspension from the service either temporarily or permanently. Please refer any problems which may arise to the School Office, who will pass them on to the appropriate member of staff.
