2 Status of Schools
Status of Schools
Section 2 Paragraphs 4.6 – 4.7 explains the categories of schools.
There are four categories of schools in Suffolk:
• Community Schools (C)
• Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Schools (CEVC)
• Church of England Voluntary Aided Schools (CEVA)
• Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided (RCVA)
The following tables and charts show the numbers and percentages of each type of school:

School Sizes Numbers of Pupils on Roll)
The following charts summarise the sizes of mainstream schools in Suffolk in May (Primary
Schools) and January (Secondary Schools) 2006. Primary rolls include part-time pupils (on
a head count basis), but exclude nursery pupils. Upper/High School rolls include sixth
formers.
