									PLANNING AND DECISION MAKING PROCESS:                       BQA(R)
DISTRICT LEVEL

STAFF DEVELOPMENT
OUT OF REGION        The following guidelines will apply:

                     1. The principal shall review all campus
                        requests for staff development and
                        ascertain that they are:
                            a. Aligned to the Campus Improvement
                                Plan
                            b. Aligned to the District Improvement
                                Plan
                            c. Approved by the Site-Based
                                Committee
                     2. The principal shall submit all staff
                        development requests at least two weeks
                        prior to the activity to the Asst.
                        Superintendent of Instructional Services
                        and the Asst. Superintendent of
                        Administration.
                     3. Professional Trip Request (DEE – e-form),
                        registration forms, purchase requests
                        (where applicable) shall be forwarded to the
                        Office of Instructional Services for review.
                     4. Campus administration or designee shall
                        make all inquiries for staff development
                        status to the Office of Instructional
                        Services.
                     5. The Office of the Superintendent must
                        approve administrative staff development.
                     6. Paperwork will be forwarded to the
                        appropriate departments for approval.
                     7. Within thirty days upon return, expense
                        reports must be filed.
                     8. This procedure applies to consultants
                        contracted for campus-level staff
                        development. Contact names and numbers
                        must be included in the initial request.
IN REGION
                     1. The Trip Request form must be submitted
                        prior to the planned activity to the principal
                        for approval.
                     2. All fees and charges must be aligned to the
                        campus improvement and district
                        improvement plans.
