NAIP NSPS Objectives
  What is expected?

                            OBJECTIVE 1
• Develop a NACC approved Individual Development Plan (IDP) and
  execute the competencies identified on the IDP at the necessary
  proficiency levels to become a journeyman in your assigned career
  field.

   Stays up-to-date in professional/technical specialties
    and applies this knowledge to improve own
    performance.
   Demonstrates a basic understanding of how one’s own
    work relates to the organization’s mission, functions,
    values, applicable policies and procedures, and
    internal/external factors that affect the work unit; seeks
    opportunities to use this knowledge constructively
    when completing own assignments.
    In order to achieve a 0 for this contributing factor, you must meet all of
    the bullets listed under “EXPECTED”. If all of the bullets are not met,
    the contributing factor adjustment is -1.
          Technical Proficiency
ENHANCED
 Applies knowledge to perform more advanced
  tasks with minimal supervision
 Seeks feedback on own performance and
  takes initiative to improve technical knowledge
  and skills through a variety of self directed
  activities.
 Demonstrates working understanding of how
  internal and external factors affect
  organizations and units outside of one’s own
  and effectively uses this knowledge to
  complete tasks.
   In order to achieve a +1 for this contributing factor, you must meet all
   of the bullets under “EXPECTED” AND all of the bullets under
   “ENHANCED”.
                            OBJECTIVE 2
• Attain or be working toward the appropriate DAWIA
  certification prescribed in the IDP, within the allotted
  timeframes.

  defined, low-risk situations affecting own work.
 With guidance modifies procedures for accomplishing
  assignments when it becomes clear that the original
  approach will not work.
  In order to achieve a 0 for this contributing factor, you must meet all of
  the bullets listed under “EXPECTED”. If all of the bullets are not met,
  the contributing factor adjustment is -1.

Independently recognizes issues/problems and
 identifies patterns and trends.
When collecting data, takes initiative to identify
 additional sources of information for a more
 comprehensive understanding.

 accomplishing own assignments and takes
 initiative to suggest alternatives

  of the bullets under “EXPECTED” AND all of the bullets under
  “ENHANCED”.
Requirements for a Level 3 Rating and Above
The Performance Review must clearly articulate what you have
done to meet the performance indicators listed under the applicable
Benchmark Rating.

How do I obtain a Level 3?

    – You must meet all of the performance indicators listed under the ‘Level
      3 Benchmark’

How do I obtain a Level 4 Rating?

    – You must meet all of the performance indicators listed under the ‘Level
      3 Benchmark’ AND at least one performance indicator under the ‘Level
      5 Benchmark’.

How do I obtain a Level 5 Rating?

    – You must meet all of the performance indicators listed under the ‘Level
      3 Benchmark’ AND all of the performance indicators listed under the
      ‘Level 5 Benchmark’.
