Class Notes 21 Wooster News Winter/Spring 06 46 Class Notes Class Notes 1930’s Class Agent/Class Secretary Stanley Gilbert, Jr. '34 Art Stein '32 continues to enjoy the Florida lifestyle living in the Courtyards (independent living) in a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment with his significant other Dottie Martin. He recently had a nice visit with his old buddy, John Coburn '31. Never thought when they were painting the dorm that he would go into the ministry! George Seymour '34 sends his regards and best wishes to Wooster for a great year. Stanley Gilbert '34 is still living in Barneveld, New York on the banks of the West Canada river. They sold their place on the Abaco Sea in the Bahamas where they wintered for the last 20 years. They winter now on the outer banks of North Carolina. Robert Scott '36 reports after almost 20 years on Hilton Head Island they are moving to Leesburg, Florida. The tennis courts are only two houses away! The Class of 1936 is dwindling down to a precious few. He sends his best to absent friends and to the Great Class of 1936. Robert Bartlett ’37 writes as an 87 year old graduate from the best prep school in the east (Wooster of course!) he still remembers the fantastic education and all around good time that he had at Wooster. When he attended Wooster there were about 65 students. Robert misses Wooster even after all these years. Email Bob at rbartlett26@hotmail.com. Fred Scholze '39 writes hello to his classmates. Best wishes to all. Don Seifert ’51 and grandson Alexander age 3 months. 1946 Class Agent/Class Secretary Gordon Weston '46 49 Fulton Street, 19M New York NY 10038-1875 Phone: 212-406-0191 Pierre Ullman '46 states the weather here (Whitefish Bay, WI) this winter has been unusually mild, temperatures rather high for this part of the country and very little snow. None of this is in the least comparable to what the weather was like when he arrived in 1965 (20 degrees below zero on some days). There is undoubtedly global warming. They have two daughters one in Houston designing offshore drilling wells and the other in Minneapolis working as a software engineer. H. Cutler Fall ’46 writes he and his wife Suzanne are well into their 6th year in Florida. Enjoying it, but missing their pasts in Washington and in New England. They are in good health with children and seven grandchildren within one and a half days drive. Cutler would enjoy hearing from remaining 46ers. Funnily enough, she ended up marrying a guy that she'd had a crush on since she was about nine. They are in their seventh year of marriage now and still feel like they just got home from their honeymoon. They built a new home on New Providence Island, right on the water, which is heaven for those who spend a lot of time boating. It worked out perfectly as her real estate office is there. She heads up the sales and marketing. Her husband left the family law firm, which is the oldest on the island, and is now working on another development project. She has a little teacup Yorkshire Terrier named Chianti. She's about three pounds and she comes to work with her every day. Often after a long day at the office they pop out to the beach for a sunset walk. Issac Roth '93 lives in the mission district of San Francisco, only 40 miles from where he was born. It reminds him of Georgetown, that little intersection where he grew up between Ridgefield, Redding, Wilton & Weston. The real estate is even more expensive in SF than in Fairfield County, and he feels very lucky to own a home. It's funny, people think his Victorian home is really old because it was built in 1888. Issac has been married 2 years, and everybody likes his wife more than they like him, she's awesome. He now runs an international computer ninja squad for one of those Silicon Valley affairs, they jet people in at a moment's notice to help diagnose problems with boring but important big computer systems like the ones that run your bank, keep the phones working, etc. It means he travels a lot. His wife teaches social dance (not ballroom) all over the world and he travels with her when he is able, so combined it’s a lot of time away from home. Email Isaac at issac@waffle.net. Paul Wrider '93 writes “Hey everybody. What’s up, last boarding class of '89-'90? Woot!” After living in New York for eleven years (in the village for NYU and then moving to the much more affordable Queens), he moved to LA about a year ago with his lovely girlfriend, who has finished her master's in broadcast journalism. After doing film/video production for many years in NY, he still is corrupting the youth of America by writing and designing video games. He just worked on Fantastic Four and is currently trying to expand his knowledge of curse words while putting together the story for the Sopranos video game. Los Angeles is great, and while he misses having seasons, he does not miss the NY summers. Hope all of you are well. Good seeing the folks that showed up for the ten year anniversary at Wooster. Email Paul at feloniousmonk@sbcglobal.net. Nydia Vargas Versa '93 married a guy she met in high school that DIDN'T gross her out or bore her to death. He was and still is her best friend and he let her beat him up in the hallways just for kicks. They have since created two beings together, April (8) (named after her Wooster roommate) and Eric Michael (4). They are both the reason for her newly discovered grey hair and the smile on her face every morning. Nydia received her BA from CUNY Hunter College, where she majored in theatre (big surprise for those that know her) and minored in music. She is currently working for a urologist as his office manager, a hectic but rewarding job. She is waiting to hear from the D.O.E. (Department of Education) about a job that involves using improvisation and workshops to steer kids away from drugs, sex and alcohol. HOLLA!!!!! via email nydiaveras@yahoo.com. Curtis Gwinn '93 is in NYC, working as a comedy writer and actor. He recently sold a show to Comedy Central, and started work on writing features for FOX Searchlight.
