Instructions of the International Ph.D. Program at
      National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center

The International Ph.D. Program at the National Synchrotron Radiation Research
Center (NSRRC) in Taiwan provides an environment for students to work in the
advanced research facility as well as to experience the campus life in the renowned
universities as National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) and National Chiao Tung
University (NCTU). These two universities are located at a working distance from the
Center, allowing the students to take full advantage of both research environments.
Since the student will be granted a diploma from these partner universities, the
thesis will be advised simultaneously by a research scientist in NSRRC and a faculty in
the university in the field of “Science and Technology of Advanced Light Source”.

Applicants should be currently in a Master program and expect to graduate before he
or she enters Taiwan. Those who have already had a Ph.D. degree are illegible to the
program. The applicant needs to file the application directly to one of the partner
universities according to the university instructions no later than March 1, 2010. The
same materials should be duplicated and then mail them separately to the NSRRC for
review. Please indicate “Duplicate for NSRRC use” on the university application form.
Once granted by both the NSRRC and the chosen university, the student will be given
a title as the NSRRC International Fellowship.
