FAQ For Motors Q. A. Q. A. What is the number for tech support? 972-471-2557 What type of motors does Crouzet offer? Crouzet offers DC, BLDC, AC Synchronous, and Stepper Motors, also we offer replacements only for Asynchronous motors. Does Crouzet offer custom motor solutions? Yes, approximately 80% of the motors Crouzet manufactures are custom in one way or another. We consider custom products a way to add value to the customer. We add value in many ways, from simply adding connectors to leads to totally new products specific to an OEM‟s requirements. Why are some motor part numbers 8 digit and some are very long and contain nonnumerical characters? The 8 digit part numbers are either stocked or standard non-stocked parts that have been set up at our factory. The part numbers that are not 8 digit are numbers that are built up to designate all motor characteristics needed to order the motor. These numbers are what we call „Matrix‟ numbers and they are built off a matrix (please click on matrix to go to the download page. There you can click on the link to motor file downloads). What information is needed to find a replacement Crouzet motor? The main info that is needed is usually all the information on the motor‟s label (Voltage, frequency if AC, speed, direction of rotation, ratio value, dimensional data for the output shaft of a gearmotor, etc.) Why is a capacitor used with reversible AC synchronous motors? A reversible motor is basically 2 motor coils stacked on top of on another. And in order to ensure the desired direction of rotation and capacitor is used to de-phase one of these coils so that one coil will start rotating earlier than the other. A switch can be used to change which coil starts earlier and depending on which one starts earlier determines the direction of rotation. Please click here to go to the download page where you can find a wiring diagram for the capacitor and reversible motor. Does Crouzet offer controllers for their motors? Crouzet offers a Brushless DC motor with integrated control, but other than that there is not a DC motor controller or a stepper motor controller.
