How to Make P2P (Partner to Partner) Referrals Online
The following is a short guide describing how you can make a referral from one partner to another
partner using the new Partners for Progress P2P (Partner-2-Partner) Referral System.
Step 1: Login
Go to the Partners for Progress website: http://www.pfpworksource.org
Now, scroll to the bottom of the page where you will see the text:
Click on the word here to get to the login page.
Once you’re at the login page, enter the following information:
Finally, click the button.
You will be taken to the Partners for Progress P2P Referral System.
Step 2: Choosing a View
First, you need to decide if you want to browse through services by partner or browse through
services by category (type of service).
Generally, if you know which partnering agency you want to refer your client to, you should be
browsing services by partner. This is the default setting so you won’t have to do anything to get
it this way.
However, if you don’t know what partner offers the type of service your customer is looking for,
you can browse by category. To do this, click on he link in the middle of the page where it says:
You may also browse services by category. Just click here.
Step 3: Pick a Partner or Category
To the left, above the PfP logo, you will see a list of partners or categories (depending on what
view you chose). They will be shown in blue.
Click on one of these to browse through the services that fall under it.
If you are in partner view, you will see a list of all of the services which that partner offers grouped
into categories (for example: Job Placement, Housing, Family)
If you are in category view, you will see a list of all of the different partners that offer a service that
falls into that category. Below each partner, you will find a list of the specific services they offer
for that category.
Step 4: Adding Services to Your Cart
To add a service to your cart, click on the check box next to the service you want.
Then, click on the button to add them to your cart.
You may check multiple services at one time to add them to your cart.
Also, there is a color coded guide at the top of the page that looks like this:
- For services that are colored red, there is no additional information about that service.
- For services that are colored orange, you can click on the name of the service to view a
description of it which may include details such as when and who it is available for and what the
service or program is about.
- For services that are colored grey, it means you already have placed that service in your cart.
Viewing Your Cart
After placing a service in your cart, you will be taken to view the contents of your cart
automatically. Here, you will see a list of all of the services you have selected.
You can delete services by clicking the next to the service you no longer want.
Once you are viewing your cart, you can choose to browse more services by clicking the
categories to your left again.
Or, you can checkout and complete your referral by clicking the button.
Note: You can view your cart anytime by clicking at the top right of the screen.
Step 5: Checkout
Once you are done adding all of the services you want to your cart, it is time to complete your
referral by checking out.
To proceed with checkout, click at the top right of the screen.
Or, if you are already viewing your cart, you can click on the button.
Then, follow the simple step-by-step directions on the screen. To complete and place the
referral, you will be required to enter information about the client. Enter all possible contact
information you have about the client to make it easier for referral handlers to get a hold of them.
Make sure to ask if they have e-mail too! You’ll also be asked some information about yourself
so that we know who to give credit to for the referral.
Once you have completed checkout and placed your referral, you will be taken to a confirmation
screen. Please print it out and give it to the customer as a receipt.
Step 6: Give Clients the Heads Up
Now, you need to let the client know what placing this referral does.
First let them know that someone from each partnering agency referred will contact them.
This can mean multiple phone calls from different agencies willing to help them.
(This prevents clients from thinking it is a solicitor calling when the referral handlers call them.)
You should also tell them that you went through and chose services that may be of help to them.
They’ll receive specific information on these services along with information on the agency that
provides them. However, let them know that they may or may not be eligible for all of the
services, but the person contacting them will be able to help them determine if they are and what
to do next.
Logging Out or Starting Another Referral
If you are done making referrals using the P2P Referral System, you can now log out.
To log out click at the top right of the screen.
However, if you want to start another referral, click at the top right of the screen.
This will bring you to a fresh cart. Just click on one of the partners to the left to get started again.
