About Delta Economics
Delta Economics is a global research-led think-tank whose mission is to promote the
role that entrepreneurs play in stimulating sustainable economic development.

Start-up, grow-up, create wealth, create value
http://www.deltaeconomics.com/media/Growing_up_DeltaWES08.pdf
We see entrepreneurship as the driver behind economic development. But policy
makers and businesses alike have to create the ecosystem in which entrepreneurs
can survive: the infrastructures and access to finance and know-how; growth
finance, mentoring and coaching; wealth creation and exit; re-investment, social
enterprise, philanthropy and corporate venturing.

What we do
We deliver everything from the pure academic research and data at each stage of
the entrepreneurship ecosystem to allow policy and businesses to identify where the
gaps in the system are, right the way through applied research and “translation” of
economics into everyday English, to dissemination, speaking and outreach:

     • Delta Economic Surveys: conducts pure economic and econometric research.
It runs a regular “entrepreneurial confidence” index in partnership with
          YouGovStone and conducts survey-based and in-depth interview-based/case
study research. Its track record includes the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor
(GEM) study for the English regions during 2007 which was the world’s largest
single-country study of entrepreneurial activity. Our Directors were involved
with growing and building GEM over a six year period and have additionally
conducted survey based work for UnLtd, the Work Foundation and Deloitte.
     • Delta Economics: applies the pure research conducted in Delta Economics
Surveys to real world policy and business problems. It conducts action-
oriented research, runs teaching and training and provides consultancy
around the ecosystem model to policy and businesses alike. We act as the
Secretariat and research engine for the World Commission on Sustainable
Social Entrepreneurship Finance with i-genius. Our track record and current
          projects are at http://www.deltaeconomics.com
     • Delta Forum: the Delta Forum is the company that owns the World
Entrepreneurship Summit (WES), which is a global gathering of
entrepreneurs, business leaders, thought leaders and policy makers to set the
agenda and take action around the central theme of entrepreneurship and
sustainable development. WES Global takes place in London annually in
January but also runs workshops, seminars, lunches and breakfasts bringing
together the best people in the world to take action in the entrepreneurial
arena from the smallest firm in sub-Saharan Africa to the largest global firm.
Our track record includes the inaugural World Entrepreneurship Summit event
