Designed for all skill and experience levels, this 4-week class encourages experienced artists
and beginners alike to gain confidence and pleasure in drawing by better understanding
composition, medium and tools. Combining approaches to human figure drawing with still-
life techniques, the class considers elements of art including shape, line, space, texture, value,
and form, giving the artist the skills to create, evaluate, manipulate and finalize a drawing.
Hornell Area Arts Council will provide some basic drawing materials including drawing
boards, clips, paper, charcoal, Conte' crayon and erasers. Participants are encouraged to also
bring their own materials (eg. fiber pen, drawing pencil, pastel, chalks) and easel, if they wish
to use them.
HAAC welcomes applications from other qualified individuals interested in tutoring art classes in 2010.
