Non-Functional Prototype - Production Specifications Report

Introduction
This document contains the information pertaining to the development of the functional prototype for a scenario-based training application with content as specified by the client from the publication of Parenting “The Teenage Years –Section: Drugs and Teenagers”. The non-functional prototype for this project will comprise a wireframe illustrating the placement of elements on a screen, a storyboard that illustrates the content of screens and a navigation chart that illustrates the interaction between screens. Scenario/Situations The table contains the scenario and the situations that are to be answered by the user by choosing one of three options to pr oceed from one situation to the next with feedback depending on the user’s choice. Storyboard / Wireframe These were produced in image editing software Photoshop CS3, design and images were used illustrating the placement of elements on the screen, a storyboard illustrating the content on the screens. These slides show the design and layout that will be used in the production of the prototype. Images This selection of images, are the ones we have chosen to include in the production of the design screen layout. The DoCS logo if is on all screens, this links to the main menu. There is also an exit button on every screen. Navigation Chart The navigation chart illustrates the interaction between screens. The branching links from one slide to the next to show the interaction between the users whilst completing the situations in the scenario or viewing the other resources available.

Scenario and Situation Content
Slide Scenario Introductio n Scenario Title Introduction Text and Feedback Content It is inevitable in today’s world that most young people will come across drugs. As a parent tackling this issue can be very challenging. Young people get most of their information about drugs from their friends. Often it is inaccurate. An important part of protecting your teenager is to find out the facts. Get informed first and then discuss the issue with them. Your teenage son Brett has asked to attend a dance party with his friends while there he becomes intoxicated and used drugs with them. Brett stayed out all night and you had no idea that it was a rave party where everyone was mixing drugs or that Brett or his friends did such things. Your teenager son Brett lied and went to a rave party with his friends, and he stayed out all night you tracked him down and discovered him under the influence of something but not really sure of what. What would you do? Option 1: Talk to him about it and look for Correct Choice: solutions. Congratulations you are correct continue Option 2: Tell him he is grounded and never to Ok Choice: see his friends again. If you think your teenage son is using drugs, don’t panic. Think about why she may want to use drugs, talk with him about it and look for solutions. Try Again. Option 3: Take him home and put him to bed, Incorrect Choice: whatever it is it will wear off. Ignoring the problem may cause it to escalate to a more serious one in the future. Try Again. You have found out that your teenage son has been mixing alcohol and drugs at the rave party. How will you deal with what she has told you? Option 1: Tell him not to do it again. Ok Choice: Focusing on what not to do may be interpreted by him as if you don’t really care. Try Again. Option 2: It’s just something that all teenagers Incorrect Choice: get into, so don’t worry about it. Some drug combinations dramatically reduce our ability to do even simple tasks. Mixing alcohol with other drugs is especially risky. Try Again. Option 3: Explain to him he may suffer harm or Correct Choice: have accidents when intoxicated or misusing Congratulations you are correct continue drugs. You had no idea that Brett was mixing drugs. How would you have found out earlier about this problem? Option 1: Searched his room and interrogate his friends. Incorrect Choice: Talk to him and listen. This is the key to building understanding and trust in your family. The more you know about your teenage son life and his concerns, the easier it will be for you to pick up a problem before it gets too big. Try Again. Content Areas of the Storyboards/Wireframes
Area 1: This area is used to identify the name of the production and the number used to designate the screen. Area 2: Represents the monitor screen. This area shows how the screen will look to the user. All information (both text and graphics) which will appear on the screen are indicated.
Area 3: This space is for special instructions. Special instructions can include background color, color of text, comments about anim ation, audio or video segments, screen resolution desired or other information which describes how the screen will look or perform.
Area 4: This area is used to write the voice script used by a narrator. Area 5: This space is used to indicate which screen is to appear next. It also indicates those screens with situations that respond with feedback to the user.

Well a scenario is a simulated activity in which you need to make choices as you work though the tasks. A scenario is made up of a series of scenes. In each scene you are presented with information about the situation, activities for you to complete and choices you need to make to move onto the next scene. In making these choices, you will need to think about what is happening in the scene and what an appropriate response would be. If you answer correctly you continue on but if you answer wrong you need to try again. So let’s begin just click on the Scenario tab on the main menu below
