 DAY SECTION- OPT 1
Students are accepted to the
Day Section of the Nursing
Program twice a year .
30 –36 students enter in the Fall
and Spring semesters. Schedule
varies-some E/W hours are
possible in the Day Section.
 EVENING/WEEKEND
   SECTION-OPT 2
The Evening/Weekend Section of
the program is always contingent
on faculty, funding and facility
availability. We hope to accept a
cohort of 20 students once a year –
(fall semester). Students must be
flexible. Schedules vary and classes
may be day or evening. Full time!

Intermediate Algebra or any higher
       math (college level)
•Math 56, 60 or higher

•Human Anatomy
•Human Physiology
•Microbiology

Life Science Prerequisite: Biology 102
    PREREQUISITES

     GRADE POINT AVERAGE
A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
in the science prerequisite courses
LVN STEP-UP PROGRAM
      Additional Prerequisites
•Valid California LVN License
•Nursing 110
•Note: If you did not graduate from an
accredited LVN program and desire the
degree….See me for information regarding
your options.
      APPLICATIONS
Applications are accepted
  twice a year.
 September 1st-November 1st
 February 1st – April 1st
Apply when working on last prerequisite(s)
    APPLICATION PROCESS
        Complete Application Packet
•Application
•Proof of high school graduation or higher degree
•Transcripts supporting prerequisites from all
colleges except Palomar (unofficial are fine!)
• Completion of all prerequisites or work in progress
form for coursework being taken during semester
application is submitted.
 SELECTION PROCESS
All eligible applicants are placed in
2 groups: A and B

A = all prerequisites are done.
B = prerequisite(s) is in progress
         WAIT LIST

Beginning Level : about 2 – 2 ½
years

LVN/RN Step-Up: 1-3 semesters

             TEAS EXAM
•This is a diagnostic test that covers Math, English,
Reading & Science.

•All incoming students will be required to pass this
exam with a cumulative score of 67%.

• The TEAS exam can be repeated once if necessary
after remediation.

•Requirement must be met by May for Fall
admission & by November for Spring admission.
