Here is the recipe for the pretzel salad:
½ cup round pretzels (broken)
1 cup sugar
½ cup butter
8 oz. cream cheese
12. oz. cool whip
6 oz. strawberry jello
2 – 10 oz. pkgs. frozen strawberries
Break pretzels; mix with butter and ½ cup sugar. Put in 13x9 inch baking dish.
Bake at 325 degrees for 6 minutes. Cool completely.
Mix cream cheese, cool whip and ½ cup sugar. Spread on cooled pretzel
Mix jello with 2 cups boiling water, add frozen berries to mixture and stir until
thickened. (I put in the fridge to speed up thickening). Spread on top of cream
cheese mixture. Chill
*Be sure to let pretzel mixture cool completely before putting cream cheese
mixture on top of it. If not completely cooled, pretzels will be soggy.
*I suggest doubling the pretzel mixture on the bottom. I also use whipping cream
instead of cool whip.
