INSUFFICIENT FUNDS CHECKS: Any applicant who submits a check with insufficient funds will immediately be
subject to having a stop work order posted on the project until said funds have been recovered. Any applicant
who submits more than one check with insufficient funds will be required to pay for all future permits with cash,
cashiers check or money order.

FEE REFUNDS: Fees are not refundable except as allowed by GCC 8-6A-12.C. To be eligible for a refund, the
refunds must be requested within 180 days of the date of payment.

 Garden City Code section 7-4-2 (A) states, Fees paid for the permits associated with the construction of improvements to any building regulated
 under this title shall be refundable at a rate of eighty percent (80%) of the original permit. Refund requests must be made in writing and be
 accompanied by the original permit. Refunds cannot be granted for plan review fees or for permits which are expired or null and void for any
 reason.
                                                         BUILDING FEE POLICY –2009

The following policy shall serve as the Official Rules and Regulations related to the Building Permit Fee and Plan
Review Fee schedule for the City of Garden City.

Application: All new applicants shall be required to make application with the City in person for all new projects
requiring a building permit.

Deposits: All new applicants shall submit a plan review deposit at time of application as specified in the deposit
table.

Valuation Determination: The determination of value or valuation under any provisions of the current adopted
codes shall be made by the building official. The value shall be determined by using the valuation data from
current issues of Building Safety magazine. The building official shall use the valuation established by valuation
data from Building Safety magazine, or the actual project cost, whichever is greater. This process shall also be
applicable to the “Limited Permit” fee determinations.
