are conducting an Amateur (Ham) Radio
Training Course and Assessment in November
at Wattle Glen.
For anyone interested in dipping his or her toe
in the wonderful hobby of Amateur Radio, the
Foundation License is the ideal place to start.
The Foundation Course run by the SRESU is conducted
by Scouting people primarily for Scouts, Venturers,
Rovers and Leaders. Scouting Parents and Friends are
welcomed to apply; acceptance of applications is
subject to course number limitations.
The Training and Assessment leads to the Amateur Operators Certificate of
When: November 21st & 22nd – Foundation Course to be conducted
at the Wattle Glen Scout Hall. The two day training course including
Saturday & Sunday light lunch, full colour training manual, WIA assessments,
your selection of available call-sign and first year Amateur Radio License1.
Applications Close 9th November 2009. Last posting of Training books will be
that same week to enable full week to study of the training material prior to the
commencement of the course, (this is essential).
Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders will be entitled to wear the Amateur
Radio Badge and awarded other badges on successful completion course.
