Centre for Neuro Skills® and Loma Linda University Medical Center
Presents $3,000 Check to the California Brain Injury Association
Long Beach, CA (March 8, 2008) – Centre for Neuro Skills® (CNS) and Loma Linda University
Medical Center (LLUMC) will be presenting a $3,000 check to the California Brain Injury
Association (CALBIA) tonight at the Second Annual Greek Dinner and Dance for Thought, which
will go toward CALBIA’s efforts to raise awareness of brain injury and support prevention
initiatives in California.
CALBIA is California’s only chartered state affiliate of the Brain Injury Association of America,
and will use the donation to help bring awareness to brain injury, which affects more people than
HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injuries combined. It is estimated that
22,000 Californians will sustain a brain injury this year.
This is the second year that CNS and LLUMC have donated a portion of the proceeds made from
their collaborative Annual Neuro Rehab conference, which was held in October of last year.
Linda Mosley, Regional Marketing Director, and DeAnna Gomez, Community Liaison, from CNS
will join Dr. Murray Brandstater, Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Mara
McCarville, Executive Director of Rehabilitation, of LLUMC, in presenting the check to Dr. Rick
Adams on behalf of CALBIA.
