   Give Kids a Smile Free Dental Care Program Successful in
      The 4th Annual Give Kids a Smile volunteer initiative, which provided free dental
care to children in need, was a success in ______, as well as statewide. Overall, more
than __________ children received free care provided by more than ______ volunteers.
     At _____________, children received __________________. Dr. _______ , a
dentists from ______ said, “I’d like to thank the entire community for pulling together
to support this effort. It is so heartening to see so many volunteers coming together to
help children who need dental care.” Access to dental care is at a crisis point for low-
income, vulnerable patients, especially children, senior citizens, the medically
compromised and those with disabilities. The Minnesota Dental Association has made
this issue a top priority.
     “Volunteer efforts are part of the solution but one day can’t solve the problem,”
said Dr. James Zenk, president of the Minnesota Dental Association. “Lawmakers need
to know that paying less than 50 cents on the dollar to treat public assistance patients is
not saving money.”
     Dedicated to preventive and cost-effective dentistry, the Minnesota Dental
Association provides continuing dental education and information to promote dental
awareness and to improve the health of the public. The Minnesota Dental Association
