					Animal/Plant Cell Diagrams

Purpose:
To accurately represent the structures within a plant and animal cell
To compare and contrast the differing structures between the plant and animal cell

Resources:
Animal & Plant Cell Handouts, Biology Textbook

Requirements:
   1. Each person must develop two separate diagrams, one animal cell and one plant
      cell.

   2. Each diagram must be colored and have the following structures.
      Animal Cell
 Nucleus, Nucleolus, Nuclear Envelope, Ribosomes, Rough & Smooth
Endoplasmic Reticulum, Golgi Apparatus, Mitochondria, Centrioles,
         Vacuoles, Cell Membrane, Lysosomes
      Plant Cell
 Nucleus, Nucleolus, Nuclear Envelope, Ribosomes, Rough & Smooth
Endoplasmic Reticulum, Golgi Apparatus, Mitochondria, Vacuoles, Cell
         Membrane, Cell Wall, Chloroplast,

   3. Each diagram must have a legend that labels each structure along with its function
      in the cell.

Cell Model Project

Purpose:
To accurately represent the structures within a plant and animal cell
To compare and contrast the differing structures between the plant and animal cell

Resources:
Animal & Plant Cell Handouts, Biology Textbook

Requirements:
 Each person must build a 3-dimensional model of either the animal cell and or
plant cell. You may use any materials that you can find around your home
(except any food that will go bad).

 Each diagram must be colored and have the following structures.
          o Animal Cell
 Nucleus, Nucleolus, Nuclear Envelope, Ribosomes, Rough &
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum, Golgi Apparatus, Mitochondria,
                    Centrioles, Vacuoles, Cell Membrane, Lysosomes
          o Plant Cell
 Nucleus, Nucleolus, Nuclear Envelope, Ribosomes, Rough &
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum, Golgi Apparatus, Mitochondria,
Vacuoles, Cell Membrane, Cell Wall, Chloroplast,

 Each model must have a legend that labels each structure along with its function
       in the cell.

Hint: Remember that the shape the animal cell is different than the shape of the plant
   cell.
