1830’s Peter Hesketh decided to create the new town

Decimus Burton marked out the streets with a plough
1837
The first building was finished

The Preston and Wyre Railway opened The upper and lower lighthouses were erected St. Peter’s Church was consecrated The North Euston and Crown Hotel were built

Steamers began to run from Fleetwood to Belfast and Londonderry. The Fleetwood Chronicle was also launched.

Rossall School was founded
1847
Queen Victoria landed at Fleetwood from Scotland A high tide did great damage to Fleetwood and Rossall
1859
The North Euston Hotel was sold to the Government The Lifeboat station was established

Hutments barracks were erected

Sir Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood died in Brighton

Construction of the Wyre Dock begins
