SIXTH ANNUAL BREAKFAST WITH THE CHAMPIONS
Conference Favorite Gretchen Hurt Focuses on Discipline and Fundamentals
At this historic time in the stock market, national teacher Gretchen Hurt comes to Sacramento on Saturday, February 28, 2009 with some timely classes. She will present Buying Good Stocks in a Down Market and Using PERT to Manage Your Portfolio. Buying Good Stocks in a Down Market – It is common knowledge that bear markets are the time to invest in good stocks but it is extremely hard for most investors to follow these words of wisdom. We will talk about why it is so hard to buy stocks when they are on sale, some basic rules to follow in a bear market, and a few places to look for good stocks to buy in a bear market. Using PERT to Manage Your Portfolio – If you want to be a successful investor, you must learn how to manage your portfolio to eliminate the losers and maximize your potential return. The Portfolio Evaluation Review Technique (PERT) is the tool designed for Better Investors to assist with portfolio management. In this interactive class we will learn how to use this tool and examine some portfolios to see what they tell us. The Breakfast with the Champions event will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 in the beautiful Timber Creek Ballroom at Sun City Roseville. The cost is $40 per person and includes the wonderful Sun City Breakfast. Breakfast begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 8:50 AM. Gretchen begins her presentation at 9:00 AM and the event ends at 12:00 Noon. The address is 7050 Del Webb Boulevard, Roseville, CA 95747. Pre-registration is required. Please use the mail-in form on Page 3 or register online: http://champions09.eventbrite.com

Sacramento Area Chapter Newsletter 2 Sacramento Model Investment Club
Meets from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on the third Saturday each month at the following location: Sacramento Suburban Water District 3701 Marconi Avenue Sacramento, CA 95821 Guests are invited to attend, observe and, following the meeting, ask questions of our members and directors in an informal setting. This is an actual investment club in progress with the goal of modeling BetterInvesting techniques. Our Model Investment Club (MIC) members join for an 18-month rotation, with hopes that those rotating out will start an investment club. At a recent meeting, a stock challenge between an existing holding and a prospective small-mid cap company resulted in a decision to buy using a limit-order approach to the new acquisition. Our members agreed to carry this theme of challenging existing holdings with new opportunities at future meeting as appropriate. Guests attending the December 13th MIC meeting were positive in their evaluation of the brainstorming session on industry/sector assessment. Research presented to members stimulated a lively discussion. The results identified particular industries of the future to give focus in 2009 for our stock study committees. You are welcome to submit your name to our Model Club prospective members list. Contact Carol Crosta 916-771-7222 or email@example.com.
