Parent/Teacher Conference Day
The Educational Improvement Act mandates a Parent/Teacher Conference Day. This day will be left to the discretion of each school. A minimum
of six hours, outside the school day, is required for each teacher and will be documented by the principal.
Staff Development Days*
Days missed due to dangerous or extreme weather conditions will be made up from the 13 days stockpiled by attending school 7 hours per day.
State law allows these days to be designated for Staff Development*. Two days have been designated for Staff Development and 11 days for
dangerous weather conditions. Beyond 11 days, April 2, 2010, would be used first. Other days will be added to the end of the school year.

Explore/PLAN: September 20 – November 12, 2010; Block Schools AYP End of Course/Gateway: December 7 – 10, 2010; Writing Assessment:
February 1, 2011; ACT: March 15, 2011; TCAPs: April 14-21, 2011; AYP End of Course/Gateway: May 3 – 6, 2011
In-Service and Staff Development Days
All activities for optional In-Service and Staff Development days must be approved by the Principal in advance.
