Presentation of myself Well, where do I begin? I have always been bad at describing myself. I asked some friends if they could help me. When I did they said I was warm, helpful and always smiling. Anyway, my name is Helene Evensen. I am 22 years old. I started straight to college after high school. I started school a year before I was supposed to as a child so I have always been the youngest in all the classes I have ever attended to which has made me feel that I never have accomplished as much as my fellow students. In my house there is a lot of action. I am engaged, but I still live at home while I am saving up to get a place of my own. I live with my grandparents, parents and my brother and sister. We have lived liked that since I was a kid and I couldn’t imagine living in another way. I live in Moss; therefore I have to commute to school. I start of at 7 in the morning by boat and reach school by 9 o’clock. Besides studying I got three other jobs. I work every other weekend at two different grocery stores. “Meny” and “Kiwi”. As my third job, I work as a substitute teacher at an elementary school in Tønsberg. I mainly work in the 4 th and 7th grade, but I teach classes in all the other grades as well after what they need. It’s nice to get to know so many of the children. Besides studying and work I spend a lot of time with my friends and family. My relationship with the English language I have always liked English. Particularly I like to speak English. This is something I think it’s really exciting. Sometimes when I speak Norwegian and suddenly can’t find the word I am looking for, I usually use a English word instead. It comes naturally. What I want out of this course. I want to develop a more expanding vocabulary and get a more correct grammar. Grammar is a weak point for me. I want to learn more about English and not at least American history which I think it’s really interesting. I also want to get more input on how I can use English in the classroom. Part 2. The students are supposed to get knowledge, skills and attitudes that is available to use in the teaching of English. It’s a goal that the students after the course will be able to:         Use the language both written and oral Could use English phonetics Have the basic grammar in order Could plan and go through teaching English in concord to the teachingplan Develop a joy for the language and skills through using the different variations of the language Consider the different ways we can use in the teaching of English ( Books, internet, games, songs etc.) Get to know English literature and writers Know the English and American history and their cultural and social conditions All the students work is to be presented in the students own maps on the web .An important part of the course is self studying. The students are encouraged to form study groups. All the students are supposed to have an obligatory test in grammar and phonetics during the fall semester. Curriculum Literature is a big part of the curriculum. This is not only to develop lingual skills but also to see other people cultures and experiences. Guidance All the students get guidance on their written work during the year. The students are also given the opportunity to guidance each others works.
