Biography of Ron Moore (Ronald J. Moore, Sr.)
Employment History Stanford Research Institute, now SRI International, from 1955 to 1992, Graphic Artist, Manager of Marketing. Narrative I was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. After graduation from high school, I attended the Rhode Island School of Design. I married my high school sweetheart, Ruth, in 1951 and moved to Sunnyvale in 1955. I got three jobs the first week and picked Stanford Research in Menlo Park. We moved to Cupertino in 1962. I worked as a Graphic Artist for SRI (now called SRI International) for 37 years, and retired in 1992, but I am and always will be an artist. I paint watercolors. I am a cartoonist, a writer and illustrator of children’s books. I am Past President of Northern California Cartoon and Humor Association. Charles Schulz (Peanuts) was a friend and member of our group. My “fifteen minutes” claim to fame was showing my drawing on the “Howie Mandel” show on national TV. I volunteer as a Producer and Crew Member of Cupertino Senior Television Productions (CSTVP), producers of “The Better Part,” a show shown on Cable Channel 15. We have been producing our show weekly since 1983, and will have a celebration in October of our twenty years. I am working on several screenplays, and ideas for television series. I am writing a book about capturing a likeness in drawings, and I plan to make “how to” videos about learning to paint, draw, cartoon, and enjoy being an artist. We have four children, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. We remarried to celebrate our fiftieth anniversary, and we will be going to my fifty-fifth high school reunion in October (unfortunately missing most of the campaign period) and we will go to my wife’s fiftyfifth reunion next year. We love Cupertino, and we love each other, very much. Thank you. Contact Information 408-253-1197 ronaldm124@aol.com
