Biography of R. Mark Hamlin, Jr. Mr. Hamlin is president and one of the founders of The Reserve Group, a management company that specializes in the acquisition, revitalization and expansion of manufacturing companies. The portfolio of companies included in The Reserve Group today are ten in number. The companies include 25 production plants in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Reserve Group functions similarly to a private equity group; however, the partners/investors are largely members of the Hamlin Family along with key long term associate of The Reserve Group. Each of the companies operates autonomously under its own president and CEO and Board of directors. Besides common ownership, the similar tread of the companies is that they have adopted a common philosophy as the basis for their business dealings. Prior to forming The Reserve Group in 1995, Mr. Hamlin had been a vice president of The Brenlin Group and president of R. M. Hamlin, Co., a developer and general contractor. Mr. Hamlin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Colgate University and a Masters degree from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. He and his wife Elizabeth have 2 children.
