IEEEXtreme Competition Corporate Sponsorship

What is IEEEXtreme?

IEEEXtreme is a 24-hour, worldwide, online contest in which teams of IEEE student
members compete against each other to solve a set of programming problems. Teams of
up to 3 IEEE student or graduate student members are supported by an IEEE Student
Branch, and are advised and proctored by an IEEE Member. Schools or branches may have
more than one team participate.

The first-ever IEEEXtreme competition was held in December 2006 and had 47 teams with
over 150 participants. The second IEEEXtreme competition, held in March 2008, saw that
number jump to 130 teams with over 500 participants from 31 countries around the world.
The next competition, IEEEXtreme 3.0, is expected to double the participation from 2008.

IEEEXtreme 3.0 will take place Saturday 24 October 2009 beginning at midnight GMT
(00:01 GMT) and ending at 00:01 GMT Sunday.

Sponsorship has its benefits

IEEE has more than 1,600 student branches and 80,000 student members worldwide.
Sponsorship is an excellent way to get an edge on recruiting the next generation of top
talent in the engineering and technology fields.

Sponsorship of IEEEXtreme includes web and print advertising opportunities for branding
and awareness in the months leading up to the competition, during the 24-hour
competition itself, and continued recognition of your support following the event.

In addition, IEEEXtreme sponsors get excellent exposure to the entire IEEE member
population (currently more than 380,000 members worldwide) and appropriate audiences
in the computer science, computer engineering, information technology and related fields,
through a cooperative marketing effort with IEEE Computer Society. The IEEE Computer
Society is IEEE’s largest society, and has more than 85,000 members worldwide.
