BTL Website Tutorial
To log into the BTL Site: 1) Click on the link provided to you in your e-mail or 2) In Internet Explorer, Type in this address: www.wausau.k12.wi.us/curriculum/btl 3) Click on – “Go” or hit enter. Homepage Welcome to the BTL Website. As is says on the homepage, this site is designed to assist teachers using the Breakthrough to Literacy program in their classroom. There are several links on the left that may be of interest to you. Each page is very user friendly, but just in case; you can refer back to the tutorial. Pictures This is a page where you can post pictures of BTL in action. You can either send your pictures to me electronically or by interschool mail. (The originals will of course be returned to you.) Do not forget about the Student and Parent Permission Form for Web publishing. This form is located in the – “Directory of Related Links” section of this Website. This form needs to be signed by a parent or guardian and returned before anything dealing a student can be posted. Keep a copy for your school, and send a copy to our Web Manager, Leilani Tingco, to be kept on file. Breakthrough Book of the week Here is the Breakthrough Book of the week page. From this page, you have access to the PreK and K book lists and ordering sheets. On the book lists, each title is a link to its book’s specific forum where you can post tips or tricks that have worked for you, ask questions, or other issues dealing with that specific book. Take note that if you need any books or replacement materials, please contact Dawn Teske. Check out the Materials Inventory sheet. Unlike in the past, this material inventory sheet is now available in an electronic format for you to fill out directly on the computer and can be sent to Dawn Teske by e-mail. Instructions are provided in the spreadsheet on how to do that. The next 2 slides are some screenshots of what you’ll see when you click on some of the links in this page. Breakthrough Featured Book Just like the previous page, this is the Breakthrough Featured Book page. From this page, you have access to the 1st grade and 2nd grade book lists and ordering sheets. On the book lists, each title is a link to its book’s specific forum where you can post tips or tricks that have worked for you, ask questions, or other issues dealing with that specific book. Don’t forget, if you need any books or replacement materials, please contact Dawn Teske. As you can see, there are also Material Inventory sheets for both grades on this page. Breakthrough Monthly News Here in the Breakthrough Monthly News page, each grade level will bring you to a page similar to the one on the next slide. Each month is a link to the current news and will bring you to a page similar to the one on the next screen. Website Comments We appreciate your comments, so this is the page to go to. Several people are listed here and by clicking name, your e-mail will come up and be ready to send a message to that person. Forum In this Website, there is a BTL forum where you can discuss different ideas, tips or tricks that have worked for you, areas of concern or even a place for general discussion. Take a moment to browse around and see what it has to offer. This page is pretty self-explanatory; so don’t be afraid to roam.
