Association of Computer Training Organisation (Sri Lanka)
Entry requirements for Membership
1. Organisations Duly registered to engage in Education & Training in the Computer Industry or has stipulated Education & Training as an Objective in the instrument to establish such organization with a minimum paid up capital of Rs. 100,000/= OR Government or semi-government institutions engaged in Education and Training in the Computer Industry. AND A minimum of 1year continuous operation in ICT Education and Training in Sri Lanka from the date of registration or incorporation. AND Minimum Computer facilities. a. A minimum of 10 PC’s with at least 5 being networked. b. Operating system should be one that is commercially available and/or supported by the developer. Eg. Microsoft Windows, Linux. c. Conduct at least course/ courses leading to the Sri Lanka Computer Driving License. d. Centre infrastructure should support Internet and e-mail facilities. Training aids a. Minimum of one OHP or multimedia Projector b. Printed Course materials - One copy of course material for each course offered by the centre to be submitted to the ACTOS Standard Committee on request. c. Syllabi of all courses offered by the center should be submitted. Library Facilities a. Should have relevant ICT books, course materials, manuals, etc. for lending or b. Students must have easy access to the library. AND Teaching/ Management Staff At least one member of the full time Teaching/ Management staff should be a Professional Member of any one of the following Computer Societies; Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), British Computer Society (BCS), Australian Computer Society (ACS) or a graduate in ICT from a recognized University. OR At least two members of the full time Teaching/ Management Staff should be Associate Members of any one of the following Computer Societies; Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), British Computer Society (BCS), Australian Computer Society (ACS). OR At least three members of the part time Teaching/ Management Staff should be a Professional Members of any one of the following Computer Societies; Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), British Computer Society (BCS), Australian Computer Society (ACS).

Membership Registration Procedure 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Any prospective Member of the Association should submit a perfected Membership Application form in the prescribed format to the committee together with an application processing fee of Rs.5,000/- (non refundable). The Technical Standard Committee will evaluate the eligibility of the prospective Member and invite them for a presentation. At the discretion of Technical Standard Committee, a visit to the site may be arranged. In case there is no unanimity in the Technical Standard Committee the application would be referred to the General Committee. A letter would now be sent requesting the following fees to be paid. a. Joining Fee Rs.5,000/b. Annual Subscription Rs.5,000/- Full Member c. Web page/Directory Rs.3,000/d. Annual web hosting Rs. 500/Ratification – On receipt of the fees payable, the application would be tabled at the next committee meeting for ratification. Letter to be sent to the applicant conveying the decision of the committee.
