					United Nations Capital Master Plan Invitation to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the United Nations Headquarters Renovation Bulk Supply of Fire Suppression System Materials
The United Nations Capital Master Plan (UN CMP) is managing the historic renovation of UN Headquarters (UNHQ) complex located in Manhattan, New York, USA, on 1st Avenue between 42nd and 48th Street. The new design will bring the UNHQ into compliance with building and fire safety codes and modern standards. The renovation of the UNHQ complex includes the refurbishment of approximately 2 million square feet of space made up of the General Assembly Building, Conference Building, Secretariat Building, Dag Hammarskjold Library Building, South Annex and basements. The work will begin in early 2009 and last approximately 5 years, through 2013. Skanska USA Building Inc. was selected as the Construction Manager to implement the renovation for the project. For more information on the project, go to the following hyperlink: http://www.un.org/cmp Skanska USA Building Inc., acting as Construction Manager, solicits expressions of interest (EOIs) from Fire Suppression System Material Vendors for the manufacturing, and supply of fire suppression system materials for all phases of the campus wide renovation project. The materials will be received, hoisted and installed by others. Interested vendors must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of supplying similar materials to large projects of this nature with in similar time constraints. Bid documents will be available beginning 25 March 2009. Interested Vendors should formally submit an EOI to Steven Rice, whose contact information appears below, and who will provide them with a link to access specifications and bid documents. The latest date for submission of proposal is 21 April 2009. Vendors will be required to submit a statement of qualifications with their bid proposals and take part in a post bid design/submittal process. All materials provided in response to this solicitation must meet the applicable Building Codes, referenced Standards and technical specification requirements. No consideration will be given to vendors of materials which do not meet these requirements. Small and Medium Business Enterprises (SME) and International suppliers are encouraged to participate.
