Description
Carbo*Prill is a combustible mineral which is blended into ANFO-based explosives for use in surface blasting operations, including mining, quarrying, and construction. The product is shipped in bulk as hard, free flowing chips.
Particle size (in.) Hardness (HGI) Bulk Density (g/cm3) Energy (BTU/lb)
Advantages
Carbo*Prill enhances blasting efficiency, while extending the supply of ANFO. By using the Carbo*Prill additive, the blaster can dial-in blast properties on site by adjusting the amount of product in the blend. Carbo*Prill is not cap sensitive and exhibits low hygroscopicity.
Typical Velocities of Detonation

Recommendations
Priming Requirements: Carbo*Prill/ANFO blends are booster sensitive and a 16 ounce cast primer is recommended. Smaller boosters may reduce the performance of the explosive. For specific priming requirements, please contact your Carbo*Prill representative. Other Conditions: Conditions and parameters including Ground Temperature, Sleep Time, and Reactive Ground Conditions for Carbo*Prill/ANFO blends are similar to those for ANFO. Please contact Carbo*Prill to discuss site specific conditions.
