An organization dedicated to improving the care of patients with musculoskelatal injuries and their sequelae, through research and education in the principles, practice and the results of treatment

AO TRAUMA FELLOWSHIP


Goals: to provide an understanding of when and how AO techniques are performed in other countries or continents and also to participate in the activities of a foreign hospital  Language: all AO teaching hospitals have an acceptable level of English spoken by the medical staff, however majority of other staff and patients speak the “mother tongue”

AO TRAUMA FELLOWSHIP

Length is 4, 6 or 12 weeks Stipend is approx. 2,550 SFr / 6 weeks Stipend is to assist with meals and accomidations (some hospitals will give you a room or an apartment) Travel cost are entirely one’s expense No insurance coverage outside the hospital, recommend to have insurance

AO TRAUMA FELLOWSHIP

Germany, Austria and Switzerland the spoken is German  Presentation: the fellow must give a presentation to the staff  Clothing: White coats, pants and shirts (“white gods”) are provided in Austria, Germany and Switzerland  Assiting: fellow is allowed to assist (scrubbed) for trauma emergencies at night, weekends and scheduled cases

A certificate is given upon completion of the program  Invited to join AO International Alumni Association (AOAA)  Many seminars and information offered with the AOAA
