602Pro PRINT PACK User Guide
Introduction:
602Pro PRINT PACK is a tool for converting electronic documents into e-mail and PDF. It
accomplishes this by using two printer drivers: Print2PDF and Print2Mail. Print2PDF will convert your
document to the PDF format(Portable Document Format). Print2Mail will convert your document to an
e-mail format. Unlike conventional programs that are launched from a menu or icon, 602Pro PRINT
PACK is launched when you select either Print2PDF or Print2Mail from your applications Print dialog.
You can use the 602Pro PRINT PACK drivers from any application that allows you to print.

602Pro PRINT PACK supports 32-bit Windows applications and requires a default e-mail client to be
installed.
Special Requirements for Print2Mail
MS Outlook Express 5.0 or higher is required for sending HTML e-mail using Print2Mail. This is part of
MS Internet Explorer and it is FREE. This is not required for the recipient of the e-mail [any e-mail client
with HTML support (CSS Level 2) can be used to view the mail].

Installing 602 Pro PRINT PACK:
To install 602Pro PRINT PACK:
1. Download the setup file for 602Pro PRINT PACK.
2. Double click on setup file, printpack.exe
3. The Installation Wizard will finish the installation process.
4. At the end of the installation, you will be asked to restart the computer.
Install Notes:
- Since 602Pro PRINT PACK is a printer driver, it will automatically install to a default location
inside the Windows file system.
- If the setup file is corrupt, you will need to download a new copy. Files can become corrupt
because of static on the phone line or other interruptions. There is no way to fix the damage and
the file will need to be downloaded again.
- After the install process is complete, you can locate the 602Pro PRINT PACK printer drivers
inside the Printers folder inside My Computer.

The install wizard will also create a program group. Click Start – Programs – 602Pro PRINT PACK.
Inside the 602Pro PRINT PACK folder you will find four icons:
- Help: Access to online
support
- Print Pack:
Information screen
- Registration: Use this
tool to register 602Pro
PRINT PACK.
- Uninstall: This
application will remove
602Pro PRINT PACK
from your computer.
By default, 602Pro PRINT PACK will install itself as a 30 day trial program. When you purchase
602Pro PRINT PACK, you are given a Registration Key that unlocks the trial version. If you have
purchased 602Pro PRINT PACK and have not registered, review the 602Pro PRINT PACK
Registration Guide, located inside the 602Pro PRINT PACK support section at www.software602.com
The trial version of 602Pro PRINT PACK differs from the full version in two ways. First, the trial
version, will append the word “TRIAL VERSION” to all documents processed by Print2PDF and
Print2Mail. Second, the trial version will run for 30 days. Afterwards, it will become disabled. At this
point you may purchase the Registration Key or uninstall 602Pro PRINT PACK from your computer.

Using Print2PDF:
Print2PDF is a virtual printer driver. It is not an application that can be launched from the Start menu.

Instead Print2PDF is launched when you send it a print job. Let’ try to print a document using
Print2PDF:
1. Launch your favorite text editor and open a document. Any document will suffice. I’ be ll
using the 602Text for
this example.
2. Now select File and
Print.
3. In the Printer Name
section, select
Print2PDF
4. The Print2PDF dialog
should be visible, let’s
call this file “myPDF”
and save it to the My
Documents folder. In
the File Name field,
write the path and file
name: c:\My
Documents\myPDF.

In the last example we printed from the 602Text word processor, part of 602Pro PC Suite 2000b. You

can, however, print from any application. Let’ consider your e-mail for one moment. At some point,
you may have purchased something from an online store and received some type of confirmation in
your e-mail account. Most people will not bother to archive these important business transactions, but
with Print2PDF you can easily save those important business transactions:

Open your default e-mail client. I’ using Outlook Express as the default e-mail client.
2. Open the Message, which you would like to save/archive in the PDF format.
3. Click File and then Print
4. From the list of available printers, select Print2PDF

The Print2PDF dialog should be visible, let’ call this file “myPDF” and save it to the My
Documents folder. In the File Name field, write the path and file name.
6. Click OK.
You have now saved your important business transaction, to a safe and secure format.
As you can see, using Print2PDF is very easy. Since Print2PDF is a printer driver, you can use it from
any 32-bit Windows application that allows you to print.

Inside the Print2PDF dialog
Print2PDF cannot be launched from within the 602Pro PRINT PACK folder. To access this dialog, you
must create a print job and send it to the Print2PDF printer driver- this will activate the Prin2PDF
dialog. The following options are user definable:
Output Type
Print2PDF has two possible types of output:
- Color
- Black and White
File name
This field is used to specify the name and location
of the converted file.
To specify the location, manually write the path,
or use the Folder browse button to select a Folder.
To save the file as “myPDF” in inside the My
Documents folder:
C:\My Documents\myPDF
Stamp on
By using this option, you may place a digital
stamp on the PDF document.
A digital stamp/ signature is a picture that is
inserted into your document to represent
authenticity or validity. It is used to validate the
authenticity of a document or to validate the
identity of the author. The legal effect of a digital
stamp/signature is subject to the governing laws of
your country.
Send by mail
This option will allow you to forward the
document via e-mail. When this is used, the PDF
document will be automatically attached and sent
using your default e-mail client. When this option
is selected, two choices become available:
Automatic e-mail text and Edit Text
Automatic e-mail text
This feature lets you write a brief description in the
body of the email message. This feature is
optimized for MS-Outlook Express. Other email
clients do not support Automatic e-mail text.
Initially the Automatic text is empty, so press the
Edit Text button and create write the message.
This message will be automatically inserted into
the body of the e-mail message whenever
Automatic e-mail text is used.

Additional Notes:
- PDF documents are saved in the 200DPI format.
- Print2PDF documents are optimized for printing.
- Print2PDF documents do not support hyperlinks or other dynamic objects.
Using Print2Mail
Print2Mail is a virtual printer driver. It is not an application that can be launched from the Start menu.
Print2Mail is launched when you send it a print job. It cannot process multiple print jobs in one
Print2Mail session.

Let’ print a document with
Print2Mail:
1. Launch your favorite text
editor and open a document.
Any document will suffice.

this example.
2. Now select File and Print.
3. In the Printer Name
section, select Print2Mail
4. Press the Send button.
5. Your default e-mail client
will appear. Click Send

Inside the Print2PDF dialog
Save to:
If this option is selected, Print2Mail will save a
copy of the converted document inside a specified
folder.
Stamp on:

Trouble-shooting 602Pro PRINT PACK
The following are common issues related to 602Pro PRINT PACK. Please review this before calling
for support. If you can not resolve a problem, please contact Software602.
1. Print2PDF is not printing the correct language, and the words are misspelled:
- Print2PDF is a printer driver. It captures the your documents printed output,
so it does not check for misspelled words or verify that you are using the
correct language. This must be done from the application that generated the
print job.
2. Documents formatted by Print2PDF appear fuzzy:
- Under low magnification the fonts will appear “fuzzy”, or lack the fine
details of the original document. This is especially noticeable when using a
low-resolution monitor, say 640 x 480.
- Print2PDF prints at a resolution of 200dpi. When viewing the document in
full-page mode, fine details will not be clearly visible. Documents printed

through Print2PDF are optimized for printing. To correctly view the PDF
document in Adobe Acrobat, you should zoom in to see the details not
visible under Continuous – Facing mode, Fit in Window, or Actual size. To
view the document with greater clarity, zoom until the details of the
document are visible.
3. You printed a document with Print2PDF, but Print2PDF will not work:
- Please verify that you defined the path and name of the file. If this is not
done, a PDF document will not be created.
- Verify that you have selected either Send by mail or Save to file inside the
Print2PDF dialog.
- Verify that you are using a 32-bit application. Programs written for Windows
3.1 are not compatible with 602Pro PRINT PACK.
4. You are trying to print a Legal sized document through Print2PDF:
- 602Pro PRINT PACK does not support Legal sized documents. It can still
process the document, but it will automatically convert it to a standard letter
size PDF document.
5. If any of these error messages are ever issued by Print2PDF, please re-install 602Pro
PRINT PACK:
- “Missing Gear602.DLL”. If this message is issued, please re-install 602Pro
PRINT PACK.
6. Documents formatted by Print2Mail seem to appear degraded:
- Documents formatted by Print2Mail are saved using a 256 color GIF format.
As a result, high color graphics will lose some resolution.
7. “Mail Initialization Error”
- This error message is issued when 602Pro PRINT PACK cannot detect the
default e-mail client. If this occurs please install the latest version of Internet
Explorer- this will automatically install Outlook Express.
Un-installing 602Pro PRINT PACK
To un-install 602Pro PRINT PACK:
1. Click Start – Programs – 602Pro PRINT PACK
2. Click the Un-install icon. If asked to delete shared files, select No.
