Suffolk County Community College is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for the entire College community. Our ability to respond efficiently and effectively to emergency situations is paramount to us. For this reason, the College has developed an Emergency Quick Reference Guide to educate the members of the institution on what procedures to follow for various types of emergencies. When you turn on your computer, a red “E” icon will appear on the College’s desktop page which will allow you to sign into the Emergency Quick Reference Guide. We encourage you to become familiar with the emergency procedures listed here.

An additional safety and security enhancement being launched today is an internal universal security number, 311, which--when dialed from an internal College telephone--will connect callers to the Public Safety Office for their campus or center. It is NOT designed to work from outside lines and/or cellular phones. The four-digit campus Public Safety numbers will also remain for non-emergencies. The new universal security number will allow members of the College community to have to remember only one telephone number in order to quickly reach College public safety officers. The College will continue to review and, when necessary, enhance its security measures for the safety of the entire College community.
