User Guide for Roxio Easy Creator
Creating a Data CD
1. Open the application Roxio Easy CD Creator. 2. Once opened navigate through the “make a cd” menu to start a new “Data CD”. This the type of cd you will use to write your files to a CD-R. Roxio is capable of making other types of CDs, however here we will concentrate on creating CDs that can be used as a backup or for transporting files and documents that might be too large for a floppy or your UNET filespace.
3. The Roxio window will display the contents of your computer in the top half and the collected files for the CD-R will be shown in the bottom portion. The total size of the compilation is displayed on the bottom of the application window. It provides information regarding the current size, and the amount remaining.

Erasing CD-RWs
1. Roxio can erase CD-RWs that have had data burn to them. The purpose of this would be to reuse a disk that may have outdated information on it. After erasing the data you may burn more information to that disk. With Roxio Easy CD Creator open, move your move cursor to the “disc” menu at the top of the Application windows.
2. After selecting “Erase disc” you will be presented with several options. Quick erase is just that is a function that will erase the data from your CD-RW quickly but is not very thorough. The other option is for a full erase. While not very fast, this will erase more data from the CD-RW and is recommended if the disc has been burned to several times. Once you select the erase speed, click on the start button. Your data will now be permanently deleted. The status bar will indicate how much is left and will give you an approximate finish time. Once completed you are done and free to burn more data..
