Set up the Sharp XG-NV3XB Projector:
1 Place the projector on a flat surface. 2 Position the projector the desired distance from the screen. The distance from the lens of the projector to the screen determines the size of the projected image. Press and hold the adjuster release buttons (one on each side of the projector) and lift the projector to the desired angle with both hands to adjust the projector legs. 3 Connect the power cable for the projector. Plug one end of the power cord into an electrical outlet and the other into the power port on the projector which is located at the rear right side of the projector.

Set up the Laptop:
1 Place the laptop next to the projector. If Internet connection is required, the laptop may need to be set up with a docking station (the port replicator). 2 Connect the power cable for the laptop. Plug one end of the power cable into a power outlet and the other on the power port at the rear far left of the laptop (or the rear far right on the docking station). 3 Make sure the projector and your laptop are turned off.

Connect the Video Cable to the Projector and the Laptop:
1 The video cable has two ends. 2 The “computer” end of the video cable is the smaller blue rectangular end. Plug this end of the video cable to the monitor port of the docking station (located right next to the power port). Tighten the screws on both sides of the plug. 3 The “projector” end of the video cable is the large blue rectangular end. Plug this end of the video cable into the input socket (IN 1) located at the rear top left of the projector.

Set up the Network Connection:
1 Plug one end of the blue network cable to the ethernet port (i.e., the one with a network symbol) either on the laptop or the docking station. 2 Plug the other end to the network hub or to the wall outlet.
Configure the Projector:
1 Turn on the projector. Always turn on the projector first. Press the main power switch on the back of the projector. The lamp indicator lights red and the projector enters standby mode. Press the Power On/Off button on the top of the projector. The flashing green lamp indicator means it is warming up. Wait until the indicator stops flashing before operating the projector. After turning on the projector, wait until you see a projected screen. 2 Turn on the laptop (or a desktop computer) and log on. The computer image should display on the projection screen. 3 If the laptop displays a black screen, hold down the FN key and press F8 on the keyboard to toggle the laptop to display to an external monitor.
Adjust the Projector to Focus the Image:
1 To raise or lower the projected image. Press and hold the adjuster release in the front on both side of the projector. Raise the projector to the desired height with both hands, then release the buttons to lock the legs into position. Turn the leveling knobs to further adjust the angle of the projector. 2 To focus the image, rotate the focus ring (the outer ring on the lens) until the image is clear. 3 To zoom the image, rotate the zoom ring (the inner ring on the lens) to adjust the image size.

Connect external mouse/keyboard to the Projector (if necessary):
1 Plug the mouse cable to the mouse port (green color) on the docking station. 2 Plug the keyboard cable to the keyboard port (purple color) on the docking station.
Shutting Down:
1 Press the power on/off button on the projector. The screen will appear as below: Turn power off? Yes: Press again No: Please wait 2 Press the power on/off button again within 4 seconds. The power indicator will turn red and the cooling fan will run for 90 seconds, then the power will turn off, and the projector will return to standby mode. 3 Press the main power switch to off. 4 Disconnect any cables and the projector can be unplugged and packed up. 5 If the projector is set up in Room 405, the main power switch may stay on and keep the projector in a standby mode.
