The distance from the lens of the projector to the screen determines the size of the projected image. Press and hold the elevator button (the square button on the right side of the projector) to adjust the projector leg. 3 Connect the power cable for the projector. Plug one end of the power cord into an electrical outlet and the other into the power port on the projector which is located at the rear right side of the projector. 4 Remove the lens cap. Set up the Laptop: 1 Place the laptop next to the projector. If Internet connection is required, the laptop may need to be set up with a docking station (the port replicator). 2 Connect the power cable for the laptop. Plug one end of the power cable into a power outlet and the other on the power port at the rear far left of the laptop (or the rear far right on the docking station). 3 Make sure the projector and your laptop are turned off. Plug this end of the video cable to the monitor port of the docking station (located right next to the power port). Tighten the screws on both sides of the plug. 3 The “projector” end of the video cable is the large blue rectangular end. Plug this end of the video cable into the projector (only one port at the rear can fit this in properly). Set up the Network Connection: 1 Plug one end of the blue network cable to the ethernet port (i.e., the one with a network symbol) either on the laptop or the docking station. 2 Plug the other end to the network hub or to the wall outlet. Configure the Projector: 1 Turn on the projector. Always turn on the projector first. The projector’s power button is the little green button on the top. After turning on the projector, wait until you see a projected blue screen. 2 Turn on the laptop and log on. The computer image should display on the projection screen. 3 If the projector is not properly set (e.g., when you will see “No signal detected” on the screen), press the source button and wait for a new projected image. The projector will automatically search and locate the right source. Repeat this step until you see the laptop’s image being projected. 4 If the laptop displays a black screen, hold down the FN key and press F8 on the keyboard to toggle the laptop to display to an external monitor. Adjust the Projector to Focus the Image: 1 The projector automatically adjusts tracking, signal synchronization, vertical and horizontal position for most computers. 2 To raise or lower the projected image. Press and hold the elevator button. Press the menu/select button to display the Main menu. Press the down button to highlight Display, the press menu/select to access the Display menu. Press the down button to highlight Keystone, and press menu-select. Use the left and right arrows to adjust the keystone setting. Press menu/select to accept the changes. Connect external mouse/keyboard to the Projector (if necessary): 1 Plug the mouse cable to the mouse port (green color) on the docking station. 2 Plug the keyboard cable to the keyboard port (purple color) on the docking station. Shutting Down: 1 Press the power button on the projector. 2 Disconnect any cables except the projector’s power cable. 3 Leave the projector plugged in until the orange power light stops flashing and turns green. This allows the projector to gradually cool down using its internal fans. 4 Once the power light switches to green, the projector can be unplugged and packed up.
