VP Market

JSC VP Market is a private constantly growing Lithuanian company – the operator of the largest retail network of food and industrial goods in the Baltic States. According to the results of 2004, VP Market is a company that has created most working places, and according to sales and services it is second in Lithuania.

In Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Romania VP Market owns a shopping network which is composed out of shopping centers MINIMA, MEDIA, MINI MAXIMA, MAXIMA, HYPER MAXIMA, SAULUTĖ, SAULITE, T-MARKET, ALBINUTA. The company owns 195 shopping centers in Lithuania, 88 - in Latvia, 14 – in Estonia and 7 - in Romania. Every day the shopping centers of VP Market in the Baltic States are visited by 750 thousand customers. They are offered up to 65 thousand different food products and industrial goods.

Company VP Market is a leader of Lithuanian trade market, holding about 34.5 per cent of the retail trade market. The company belongs to a largest group of private companies in Lithuania, it has been engaged in retail trade since the beginning of its activity in 1992. Latvia

VP Market occupies about 22% of retail trade market in Latvia and owns 88 shopping centers. The shopping centers are very popular with the residents of Latvia – every day MAXIMA and SAULITE are visited by an average of over 200 thousand customers.

SIA VP Market became the largest representative of a retail network in 2004 and the best operating Lithuanian company in Latvia and in January 2005 was awarded the premium “Merkurijus“.

Estonia On February 25, 2005 VP Market opened the 14th T-MARKET shop in Estonia.

Romania Since December 2004, 7 SAULUTĖ type shops ALBINUTA (Bee) have been operating in Romania.

VP Group

VP Group is the largest group of privately-owned companies in Lithuania. It began operating in the year 1992.

VP Group Structure:  Food and consumer goods retail: UAB VP Market – operator of MINIMA, MEDIA, MAXIMA stores and SAULUTĖ shops in Lithuania. SIA VP Market – operator of MAXIMA and SAULITĖ stores in Latvia. OÜ VP Market – operator of T-MARKET stores in Estonia.   JSC Eurofarmacijos Vaistinės - chain of pharmacies in Lithuania, Latvia and Poland. JSC Delano – chain of fast food restaurants and pizza parlours in Lithuania and Latvia.   JSC Vakarų Skirstomieji Tinklai - electricity distribution grid. JSC Vilniaus Akropolis - construction and development of retail centres.

JSC VP Market offers a responsible job for every active person. More than 120 different occupation workers work in the company and have the possibility to make a career from an ordinary sales assistant to a supermarket director. The company highly values its amicable and reliable collective.

The Company is expanding its business in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria and Romania; therefore VP Market offers splendid career opportunities for its personnel. The company has a total of about 20 570 employees.

Every year the company organizes a number of seminars and training courses for its staff in a Training Centre. Merchandising experts and lecturers from Lithuanian higher education schools regularly improve their qualifications.

Competitors

There are only a few competitors of VP Market: JSC Palink with the retail network of IKI , Rimi Baltic with Rimi and JSC Norfos mažmena with Norfa. The shareholder of IKI is a French company and Rimi is a segment of Kesko group in Finland. It is easier for the competitors to compete in the market due to the fact that these companies receive investments from various European countries.

Future Plans

In 2005 VP Market will continue to actively expand in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Romania and Bulgaria. In 2005 the company is planning to open the total of approximately 100 new shopping centers, 60 of them in the Baltic States, investing about 100 million Euros into development.
