To amend the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States to correct the tariff treatment of costumes. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

SECTION 1. COSTUMES AND PIECES OR COMPONENTS THEREOF.

(a) KNITTED OR CROCHETED ARTICLES OF APPAREL ACCESSORIES.—The notes to chapter 61 of the Har-

7 monized Tariff Schedule of the United States are amended 8 by adding at the end the following new note: 9 ‘‘11. This chapter covers costumes and pieces or compo10 nents thereof.’’.

OR

CROCHETED.—The notes to chap-

3 ter 62 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United 4 States are amended by adding at the end the following 5 new note: 6 ‘‘10. This chapter covers costumes and pieces or compo7 8 nents thereof.’’. (c) TOYS, GAMES, ETC.—Note 1(e) to chapter 95 of

9 the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States is 10 amended by striking ‘‘or fancy dress,’’ and inserting ‘‘, 11 fancy dress, or costumes and pieces or components there12 of,’’. 13 14
SEC. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.

The amendments made by this Act shall apply to arti-

15 cles entered, or withdrawn from warehouse for consump16 tion, on or after the 15th day after the date of enactment 17 of this Act.
