GOIZUETA BUSINESS SCHOOL MBA CAREER MANAGEMENT CENTER ON-CAMPUS RECRUITING POLICIES As a student of Goizueta you are now representing not only yourself but the school as a whole. The student policies outlined here are to call out specific areas in the on-campus recruiting setting where the basic level of professionalism and courtesy should be displayed. These policies are not exhaustive and should you have any questions or doubt, please contact any member of the MBA Career Management Center staff. Workshops Please sign up for all workshops in the Goizueta Opportunities! Recruiting System (GO!). The deadline to R.S.V.P. in GO! for workshops is 2 business days prior to the actual date of the workshop. Many times we have alumni and industry speakers take part in the workshops. If your schedule changes at any time prior to two business day before the actual date of the workshop, please cancel your reservation in GO! so we can have an accurate count. If you find that you cannot attend a workshop one business day before or the day of, please contact the CMC Advising Coordinator, Regina Walker, by email or phone (404.727.6399) prior to the workshop to let her know your change in plans. Your CMC privileges will be withdrawn after two unexplained absences for any CMC activity such as workshops and company presentations. Company Presentations Please RSVP your attendance for company presentations in GO!. The deadline to R.S.V.P. in GO! for a company presentation is 2 business days prior to the actual date of the company presentation. This allows the CMC to send a guest list to the company so that they can plan for the appropriate number of representatives, as well as adequate food and drink for the reception. If your schedule changes at any time prior to two business day before the actual date of the presentation, please cancel your reservation in GO! so we can have an accurate count for the companies. If you determine that you cannot attend a presentation after the sign up deadline has passed, please contact the CMC Advising Coordinator, Regina Walker, by email or phone (404.727.6399) to let her know of your change in plans at least one business day prior to the event. Notification on the day of the presentation is permissible only in the case of extreme emergencies. Your CMC privileges will be withdrawn after two unexplained absences from any CMC, including workshops and company presentations. The attire for company presentations is business casual unless otherwise stated.

Please refrain from being tardy to presentations and leaving early. If you have to leave early please notify the company representatives prior to the beginning of the presentation. Please do the appropriate research prior to attending a presentation and come prepared to ask thoughtful and meaningful questions. Graduating students are encouraged to take advantage of the question and answer session, as they will be interviewing prior to first-year students. Anyone receiving an invitation with an R.S.V.P. is obliged to reply as promptly as possible. You must respond to an R.S.V.P. whether you will or will not be attending. Applications Before applying for a position, please consider all aspects of the position such as geography, function, etc. and make certain that, if selected, you are willing to interview. When companies select candidates to interview, it reflects poorly on Goizueta if several of those candidates chosen to interview subsequently decline the opportunity. Follow the directions in GO! to apply to positions. All deadlines for applications are 11:58 p.m. on the day stated as the application deadline. Due to the limits of technology, we ask that you plan accordingly and upload your resume and cover letter well in advance of the deadline. Resume submissions will automatically be sent to companies by GO! after the application deadline. Interview Accept/Decline Procedures When you have been notified of your selection for a company’s interview schedule, you must sign up for an interview time slot in GO! within three business days. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of your interview slot. If you choose to decline an invitation to interview, you must decline in GO! and inform the CMC Recruiting Coordinator, Misun Pak by email or phone (404.727.0968). If you accept another job offer at any time before your interview, please come into the CMC as soon as possible to meet with one of the recruiting managers. They need adequate time to alert the company and contact an alternate to fill the available time slot. If you need to change the time of your interview after the sign-up deadline, please contact the CMC Recruiting Coordinator, Misun Pak, by email or phone (404.727.0968). Interview Cancellation Policy If you need to be removed from an interview schedule after the sign-up deadline, you must inform the CMC Recruiting Coordinator, Misun Pak, by email or phone (404.727.0968) at least two business days prior to the interview in order to be removed without penalty. The ONLY acceptable reasons for canceling within the two days prior to the interview are extreme illness, family emergency or acceptance of another job offer since the interview was arranged. If you cancel for any other reason, you will be required to meet with the Career Management Center Associate Dean, Wendy Tsung, and write a letter of apology to the recruiter(s) explaining your absence with copies to both Wendy Tsung and your program Dean.

Failure to show up for an interview will result in an immediate suspension of all CMC privileges, including access to GO! until you meet with the CMC Associate Dean and your apology letters are sent to the recruiter. A second violation will result in permanent suspension of CMC privileges and possible disciplinary action. Interviewing Guidelines Please plan to come to the CMC 15 minutes prior to your scheduled interview time. Please be prepared for your interview to run over the scheduled time. We try to keep recruiters on schedule, but it is not unusual for interviews to run long. Unless otherwise indicated, please arrive for interviews dressed in business attire. Event Guidelines We ask that you adhere to the same policies for all Goizueta Business School and external events that you do for interviews and company presentations. If you have signed up to attend external events (company visits, informational interviews, etc.) you are expected to attend unless you have an acceptable excuse (see Interview Cancellation policy). If you are not planning to attend, please give the courtesy of 2 business days notice to the appropriate party. Job Acceptance Upon receiving or accepting a job offer please notify your CMC Coach and the CMC Advising Coordinator, Regina Walker. Once you accept an offer, please complete the Exit Form sent to you by your CMC Coach. Accepting a job offer is a professional commitment. Although rare, there have been cases where students have accepted an offer (verbal or written) but have continued to look for other employment. While we understand your circumstances might change, accepting an offer and then changing your mind later, IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Accepting an offer (verbal or written) and later declining it is an extremely serious violation of Goizueta Business School policy, and will result in immediate suspension of all CMC privileges, including alumni services, until you meet with Wendy Tsung. Future recruiting privileges will be determined after this meeting. To avoid making a costly mistake, make sure you have all the information you need from the company making the offer, as well as from the other companies with which you have interviewed. If you find yourself in a difficult situation, please meet with Wendy Tsung, your CMC coach or anyone in the CMC before you make your decision. The CMC may be able to intervene on your behalf. These policies exist not to be difficult or unreasonable, but rather to ensure that we balance our long-term relationships with students’ short-term needs. In all cases, the guidelines above translate into common courtesies. Please sign the following page to acknowledge that you understand and agree to adhere to the aforementioned policies as outlined.
