Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Online Business Management Program? It’s an opportunity for graduates of Massachusetts community colleges to complete their third and fourth years of a bachelor’s degree program in Business Management entirely online. Students who are not graduates of a Massachusetts community college may still be eligible to enter this program after a review of their transcripts with a program advisor. What are the admission criteria for the program? Students should complete an associate’s degree curriculum designated specifically for the online Business Management Bachelor’s Degree-Completion program. Program-to-program articulation agreements and detailed admissions criteria are available on our web site at www.wsc.ma.edu/onlinebusiness. If I haven’t completed the designated associate’s degree program, or if I completed a different associate’s degree program before transferring, will I still be considered for admission to the online bachelor’s-completion degree completion program? Yes. However, students who transfer without completing the associate’s degree curriculum will be subject to Westfield State College’s policies for completion of outstanding requirements for the bachelor’s degree. In these circumstances, students may not be able to complete the bachelor’s degree exclusively online; and, in many cases, it will take longer than two years to complete the bachelor’s degree. How do I apply to the program? Applications to the online Business Management Bachelor’s Degree-Completion may be submitted at www. wsc.ma.edu/onlinemanagement. Accepted students may take online courses on a fulltime or part-time basis. Applicants to the exclusively online program are not eligible for on-campus housing placement. The application fee is $30, waived for applicants who have completed any Massachusetts community college associate’s degree. What is the application deadline? Applications to the exclusively online program are accepted on a rolling basis. However, priority consideration deadlines are October 15 for January (spring) enrollment and March 1 for September (fall) enrollment. Students who are eligible for admission and complete their application files by the priority deadlines will be guaranteed admission to the online Business program for the requested enrollment term. Application files completed after these dates will be considered on a space-available basis. What is the cost of this program? Full-time students (10 courses per year) in DGCE pay tuition and fees totaling $5840 per year.** Students pay for their classes at the time of registration. The cost for part-time and full-time students (all tuition and fees included) is: One 3-credit course Two 3-credit courses Three 3-credit courses Four 3-credit courses Five 3-credit courses $ 700 $1255 $1810 $2365 $2920

Advance your career and your life without giving up your family time!
The same conditions may apply to students who complete the designated associate’s degree program, but do not follow the articulation agreement sheet designed specifically for the Westfield State College online Business Management degree with a concentration in Management. These students will be required to consult one-on-one with an academic advisor to evaluate their transfer credits for placement in the major and to determine outstanding degree requirements. How will I be advised; in other words, how will I know where I stand in terms of degree completion at Westfield State College? You will have access to an advisor appointed specifically to the online Business Management program. Additionally, students who plan to complete the associate’s degree for the designated online business program will have access to the full program-to-program articulation agreement for their respective community college to use as an advising tool. This agreement is available to community college advisors. Articulation agreements are posted on the Westfield State College web site for the online Business program at www.wsc.ma.edu/onlinebusiness.

*Out-of-state fees vary. Please check website for more information.

Students with PELL grants must take a minimum of two courses (6 credits) in the fall and spring terms in order to receive awards. Chapter 15A of the Massachusetts general laws mandates that every full or three-quarter time student participate in a qualifying student health insurance program. You will be given the option to waive this coverage at the time of registration if you certify that you have comparable coverage. Students must demonstrate that they are insured if they enroll in 9 or more credits. **For comparison, a full-time student attending WSC pays $5889, after the TAP benefit is applied, and not including housing or meal plans.
