               DATES & TIME: Thursday, December 10, 2009 [1:00PM – 5:00PM]

National expert in school threat assessment Dr. Marisa Randazzo will provide the training, which will be in
two parts:

Morning session: basic training in threat assessment and the dynamics of violence in schools.
No prerequisite for this session.
Afternoon session: advanced threat assessment training that will lead participants through threat scenarios
with table-top exercises, from start to finish. Training will demonstrate steps to creating a threat assessment
team, its authority to conduct investigations and will identify key collaborative relationships between
schools and the community.
Prerequisite: participants must have taken the morning session or have significant threat assessment
experience.

 Individual school districts may wish to consider Title IV funding for travel costs associated with this valuable
   technical assistance opportunity. Professional continuing education credits (CEUs) for counselors, social
                                     workers and nurses will be available.

   COST & PER-DIEM: There is no charge for the training which is being sponsored by Santa Fe Public
  Schools through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education Readiness and Emergency Management for
   Schools program Space is limited. In addition to schools, law enforcement, mental health, parents and the
                                   general public are encouraged to attend.

Please Note DHSEM is NOT providing mileage reimbursement or per diem for this training.
