Causes of Cancer. Introduction. Cancer simply defined is the abnormal growth of cells in some part of the body. It may occur in the brain, the lungs or even the breasts. This article will cover 2 different types of cancers and their causes. Causes of breast cancer may be different from the causes lung cancer. However, one factor closely related to the patient’s personal environment, heredity, results in both cancers. Forward. Cancer refers to diseases that often occur as a result of the abnormal growth of cells in different body parts. Cancer may then take place in the lungs, the brain or breasts. This article will focus on two distinct cancers and their likely causes. Though the causes of lung cancer are dissimilar from breast cancer causes, they nonetheless share one common factor. This is the hereditary factor and it is closely related to the victim’s personal surroundings. Preamble. The abnormal growth of cells in parts of the body is what is defined as cancer. The brain, the lungs and even the breast may all be affected by cancer. The article will deal with the likely causes of two dissimilar types of cancer that occur in the breast and lungs. While breast and lung cancer share heredity as a major causal factor, there are other different causes of breast cancer and of lung cancer.

Major causes of breast and lung cancer The causes of breast and lung cancer like with most other cancers is unknown. However, heredity is one major cause of cancer. It is well known in the medical profession that incidences of breast and lung cancer in the family place one at high risk of suffering from the same. The presence of the BRCA1 and the BRCA2 gene in the body makes a woman susceptible to breast cancer. On the other hand, people with a faulty gene on their number 6 chromosome are more susceptible to lung cancer. The fault causes lung cancer especially in smokers. Another major cause of the two cancers is prior history. Survivors of both lung and breast cancer are more at risk of developing the cancers. But, there are certain other factors that are the causes of lung cancer and breast cancer respectively. These factors may be related to the external environment of the victims. Primary causes of lung and breast cancer. Just like with most other cancers, the causes of lung and breast cancer are unidentified. Nonetheless, one of the primary causes of cancer is heredity. Reports from the medical fraternity cite that one is at a much higher risk of developing breast or lung cancer, if there are family members with the disease. A woman with the BRCA1 and the BCRA2 gene in her body is more likely to develop breast cancer than one who does not. Conversely, lung cancer is likely to develop in those people with a faulty number 6 chromosome. Smokers are especially at risk. Prior history of the victim is another primary cause of the cancers. The cancers are more likely to develop again in the people who have at one time or another suffered from them. Other factors related to the external environment may cause breast and lung cancer respectively.

Breast and lung cancer principle causes. It is difficult to ascertain the real causes of cancer in general. The causes of breast and lung cancers are no exception. Still, heredity is cited as the principal cause of cancer. Family history places one at a high risk of developing either breast or lung cancer. The existence of the BRCA1 and the BCRA2 gene in a woman’s body exposes her to the risk of developing breast cancer. On the contrary, the development of lung cancer is attributed to a fault in a gene found in the number 6 chromosome in the body. Those at most risk being the smokers. Breast and lung cancer may also result in people who may have at one time or another suffered from the diseases. This makes prior history another cause of the diseases. Nonetheless, there are other factors that often linked to external environment that cause breast and lung cancers correspondingly. Causes of lung cancer. Smoking and air pollution are also said to be the causes of lung cancer. 90% of the reported cases of lung cancer are as a result of cigarette smoking. This is especially true for active smokers. Still, passive smokers have a 24% chance of developing lung cancer. On the other hand, about 1% of lung cancers are as a result of air pollution. Consequently, exposure to pollution from industries, power plants and commonly vehicles may result in lung cancer. Lung cancer causes. Two major factors cause lung cancer. These are air pollution and smoking. Cigarette smoking results in 90% of all the lung cancer reported cases. Active smokers are the main victims. Still, there is a 24% chance of passive smokers developing lung cancer. Air pollution accounts for 1% of the lung cancer related cases. In this case the causes of lung cancer are exposure to pollution from vehicles, power plants and industries. Causative agents of lung cancer. Lung cancer is attributed to air pollution and smoking. Of the lung cancer cases that have been reported, cigarette smoking is responsible for 90% of them. Those affected the most are the active smokers. However, a 24% probability exists for passive smokers to also develop lung cancer. Conversely, 1% of cases linked to lung cancer are said to be caused by air pollution. Vehicle, power plant and industrial emissions are said to be the major air pollutants that cause lung cancer. Causes of breast cancer. Hormones are another likely cause of breast cancer in women. According to studies, women who start their menses much earlier and their menopause much later in life are likely to develop breast cancer. Concurrently, women who after menopause use hormone replacement therapy are also at risk of developing the disease. There is also the argument that birth control pills may cause breast cancer. Nonetheless, there is no concrete evidence in support of this. Breast cancer causes. Breast cancer in women is likely caused by hormones. According to reports, early menstruation and late menopauses in women is likely to result in breast cancer. Concomitantly, the use of hormone replacement therapy by post menopausal women exposes them to the risk of developing breast cancer. While there is no evidence in support, birth control pills are also said to be the causes of breast cancer.

Causative agents of breast cancer. Another probable cause of breast cancer is hormones. Women who begin their menstruation much earlier and also those who enter menopause much later are at the greatest risk of developing breast cancer. Along with this, is the use of hormone replacement therapy especially by women after menopause which is also a possible cause of breast cancer. Though birth control pills are also said to result in breast cancer, there is no fool proof indication. Incidences of breast and lung cancer. According to studies, one in every eight women in the United States is affected by breast cancer. Still, one out of every 14 women and men is diagnosed as suffering from lung cancer in the United States. Breast and lung cancer incidence. In the United States, it is reported that one out of eight women suffers from breast cancer. On the other hand, lung cancer affects one in 14 people in the United States. Occurrence of breast and lung cancer. In every eight women one is affected by breast cancer in the United States. Conversely, for every 14 people in the United States, one is suffering from lung cancer.
