Dear Valued Community Member:

Thank you for your support of the National Latino Peace Officers’ Association (NLPOA), Santa Clara County
Founding Chapter (SCCFC) and in the spirit of our Association’s goal of bridging the gap between law
enforcement and the community, I am asking you for a financial contribution that is truly an INVESTMENT.

The NLPOA, SCCFC is a non-profit organization (ID# 94-3165929), incorporated in 1974 with goals of
recruitment, retention, education and advancement of Latinos into law enforcement. In addition, the NLPOA
works tirelessly in the community bridging the gap through a variety of activities, events and scholarships.

Our effective community policing and philanthropic efforts during the last 33 years have proven that we can
and have had an impact the quality of life for Latino children, seniors and families in our community.

We are pleased with our past accomplishments consisting of:

   • Awarding a combined total of $100,000 in scholarships through our 33rd Anniversary Scholarship and
       Installation Gala and our annual Noche Caliente (formerly known as Noche Ranchera) events;
   • Some proceeds from our fundraising events were spent in supporting the Annual Senior Palm Sunday
       Brunch; Gardner Academy’s Mariachi group by purchasing instruments lost in the school’s fire;
Overfelt High School’s Boys Basketball Team with new uniforms; supporting local sports leagues; the
Blue & Gold Law Enforcement Awards luncheon recognizing peace officers injured or fallen in the line
of duty; and other educational scholarships.
   • We have also been diligently working towards increasing our membership, developing leadership for
our organization, and providing promotional training.

Enclosed is the sponsorship fact sheet that provides many options in supporting our 34th Annual Scholarship
Installation Gala, and explains how your contributions will publicly be recognized. A small percentage of your
donation (15%) will be allocated to support indirect - program costs. Please feel free to view our website at
www.LatinoPOA.org.

We truly appreciate your interest in investing in the NLPOA and the community we serve. I will be contacting
you in the next two weeks, so that we may further discuss this request. In the meantime if you have any
questions, please contact me at (408) 221-7159 or by Email Manny@LatinoPOA.org . I look forward to
speaking with you soon.

                                                   In Community Spirit,

                                                   Manny Villagrana, President
                                                   National Latino Peace Officers Association

Association has been in existence since 1974. We are primarily located in the state of California
with over 25 chapters and with Chapters in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Kansas, Georgia,
Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio,

The primary goals of the National Latino Peace Officers’ Association are to provide recruitment,
retention, education and advancement of Hispanics into law enforcement and to “Bridge the
Gap” between law enforcement and the community through a multitude of activities, events and
scholarships.

                             We Fulfill Our Mission By:
• Advocating the recruitment, training, and advancement of Hispanics in the Criminal
       Justice System.

• Serving as mentors for at-risk youth by exposing them to enrichment type programs that
these children may otherwise never be exposed to, such as programs in science,
technology, nature, sports and the arts.

• Serving as positive role models for the youth of this county by exposing them to the
many career opportunities in the Criminal Justice System.

• Providing scholarships to students pursuing a college education.

• Serving as a liaison between the Hispanic community and local law enforcement
       agencies.

• Promoting fundraising in order to finance educational scholarships, youth, senior and
       community related programs and activities.

• Networking with other community organizations, civic leaders, business leaders and
individuals who share our vision, programs and objectives.

• Promoting unity, professionalism and brotherhood in law enforcement.

Today’s youth will be solving tomorrow’s problems, and a major task for our society is to
prepare them to meet the challenges ahead. The NLPOA, Santa Clara County Founding
Chapter is committed to supporting educational excellence in this country because we want the
youth of our society to be educationally well equipped for the future.
