How to Switch Your AOL Mail account over to Google GMAIL Account We've made it easy for you to import your address book from many different mail providers, so you'll always have up-to-date contact information for all of your friends.
After you've formatted your contacts' information in a .CSV file, import it into Gmail. Here's how:
1. Sign in to your Gmail account at mail.google.com 2. Click 'Contacts' along the left side of any Gmail page. 3. Click 'Import.' 4. Select the .CSV file you'd like to import by clicking 'Browse...' 5. Once you've located your file, click 'Import Contacts.' Announce your new email to all of your new imported contacts. Here's how to compose a message to all of your contacts so they know your new email address. 1. Sign in to your Gmail account at mail.google.com 2. Click 'Contacts' along the left side of any Gmail page. 3. Select 'All' along the bottom of your Contacts list, and click 'Compose.' 4. Type a message to your contacts containing your new Gmail address. 5. Click 'Send.'
Remind friends who send messages to your old email address that you've made the switch.
If your email provider offers signature settings, automatic replies, and/or customizable reply-to addresses, use them to tell your friends about your new Gmail address.

Keeping your old email address?
Add it to Gmail and use it with your new account. Gmail lets you add your other email addresses to your account so you can manage mail from one place. Use Gmail to send messages from another one of your email addresses. Here's how:
Log in to your Gmail account at mail.google.com. Click 'Settings' at the top of any Gmail page. Open the 'Accounts' tab, and click 'Add another email address.' Enter your other email address in the text box, and click 'Next Step.' Click 'Send Verification.' An email will be sent to your old account to verify that you entered the correct email address.
Follow the instructions in the verification email, and start using your Gmail account to manage all of your email addresses!
