THE HOPED FOR GIFT
You must each make up your own mind as to how much you should give.
Don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure.
For God loves the person who gives cheerfully.
2 Corinthians 9:7
What Is It?
You may ask: “What do I need to consider giving so we can
achieve our goal?” The Hoped for Gift is an answer to this
Every member receives a Hoped for Gift letter. The letter
suggests a variety of gift options for you to prayerfully consider
when making your commitment decision.
Although each of the gift options listed below is challenging,
receiving gifts within all of these hoped for gift options is
necessary if we are to reach our goal.
We all have the right and the responsibility to make our own
decision. As we make our decision we know God is at work in
our lives helping us grow in our faith and generosity.
What Are The Options?
Matching Gift – As a starting point we ask you to pray
and consider a building fund Matching Gift. A Matching
Gift means doubling your current giving over the next
three years. For example, if you are currently giving $25
a week ($1,300 a year) to our church’s ministry, would
you pray and consider giving an additional $25 a week to
the building fund for a three-year commitment of $3,900?

Pacesetter Gift – If financially possible, we hope you will
pray and consider making a building fund Pacesetter Gift
of $10,000 to $100,000 given over the next three years.
Major Gift – We invite members who have been
Elgin, IL 60120
financially blessed to pray and consider making a Major
Gift to the building fund of $100,000 or more.
To meet our appeal goal we need our members to respond as
generously as possible.
