Uploading With ImageQuix
Full-Control Order Fulfillment allows you to have full access to your online orders before you send them to North-
west Professional Color. You will receive an email detailing the contents of the order and once you are ready to
send, simply use the Lab Order Manager in the software to download and send the order to Northwest Professional
Unlike other on line systems, it is not necessary to reduce your file size before you upload your event with Im-
ageQuix. Simply tell the ImageQuix software where your images are on your computer and click “upload”. Instant-
ly, the ImageQuix software will begin to make an internet ready copy of your high res images and begin to upload
them. This also will dramatically reduce your time spent uploading. With either Full Control or Full Service you can
choose to easily upload low res images to provide immediate viewing for your clients.
*With a Full Service upload simply choose to upload low res files initially and upload high res files at night when
you’re computer isn’t in use. Simple!
Tip: Always work from copies
Whenever you are uploading to any program, you need to be working with copies of your original files. These can
be from a DVD, CD or an external hard drive. I cannot emphasize enough that you do not want to work directly
from your CF card or original captures. This is an accident waiting to happen, trust me on this.
Tip: Verify file types
This is a frequently overlooked step. Some photographers work seamlessly between RAW conversion software,
Photoshop and other programs. It is not at all uncommon for them to inadvertently stick a PSD file in the middle of
the images they are trying to upload. This will not work at all, so take a minute to make sure of what you are work-
File Naming Choices
As with most software, it is suggested that you retain the original camera file names if possible. If you choose to re-
name them, keep in mind that there is a maximum character count and illegal characters. As a general rule, you will
want it keep it as simple as possible.
Some studios choose to name the files with their client’s name, and the sizes ordered. While this may make it sim-
pler for you, they tend to get too lengthy. You might consider adjusting the names to initials only, for example Jacie
and Justin H. might become jjh_0001. This makes them easy to find and easy to retrieve for reprint orders.

ImageQuix software and select the “Tools” button and select “batch export”.
Storyboard and Organizing your images
Organizing your images in an order that will storyboard your event is an important part of marketing to your client.
By creating the optimal viewing sequence for your customers, you will bring back the emotion of the event and sell
You will begin by selecting your image source folder. Next you will click on the “Load Thumbs” button located in
the top left of your screen. You will notice that the thumbnails will appear in a single column down the right side of
your screen. Next you will click on the two dividers that run vertically down your screen. This will push everything
over to your left, out of view, while dragging the thumbnails out onto the screen as seen below. All you need to do
now is just drag and drop the thumbnails into the order you want. TIP: After organizing and rotating your images,
you must label your images in order for them to retain their order. By pressing the Quick-sequence button you can
add a sequential prefix to the beginning of each image. This will retain your file names as you entered them.
What if I make a mistake after upload?
This is not a problem at all. If you post an event and then find that you made some drastic mistake simply delete it.
If you do this within 24 hours of posting the event, you are automatically credited back to your account the “upload
credits” used for that event. You can then resubmit the job with your corrections made and you will not be penalized
for the initial upload.
