       facilitators and teachers
 To have fun and (possibly even) dance!

Structure

teacher.
B) Each Facilitator has Sets of song sheets, enough for 1 between 2.
C) Head Facilitator is Sarah Nysenbaum- She will have a Radio Mic-She will be MC
D) Note: song sheets are only distributed just before the relevant song is played
E) Michael Drucker will act as DJ
CONTENT
Outline

 BASIC: Following on from a Trigger & Introduction (see Below) 6 songs
will be played over a PA system & the content discussed.
 DETAIL: After the first a minute of each song being played at volume to the
whole Audience, the volume is lowered to background level and its content is
       discussed within each small group.
 The discussion focuses on whether the students feel that this song
could be the new anthem for Israel.
 The MC will indicate over Microphone how much time is left for discussion.
 The MC may take vox pop opinion over the radio mic from individual
       students to end the discussion
 The next Song is then played, with Lyric sheet distributed.
    Etc.
 This continues till all 6 songs have been played & discussed.
 The MC then recaps the 6 songs, with DJ playing a snippet for reference
 Within Each Group a discussion takes place to decide which of the songs is,
in their opinion the most appropriate to be a new National Anthem for Israel
 The MC will indicate over Microphone how much time is left for discussion.
 The MC gets quiet & goes to each group in turn to get their Group vote (a
pupil captain should be chosen by the facilitator to give the group vote into
       the microphone.
 The MC tallies the vote as she goes around.
 Facilitators may lead “Chanting” for their Favorite song
 The vote is announced. The winning song is played
 A Sikkum on the ideas discussed in Tochnit, “What Israel means to US”
       leading on to ………..
    Hatikvah

NOTE:
For Year 9 an extra trigger maybe needed before the main Trigger to engage
students. This trigger lasts no more that 4-5 minutes.
Their ability to discuss the songs will be at a lower level than year 10 , having not
RELATED to them yet in the context of an Experiential Israel Trip
YEAR 9 May then only do 5 songs and not 6
This trigger may take the form of the MC & Facilitators showing a simple dance
move to be made to a specific Musical sample.
The MC will point to a group, and that group have to stand up and do the correct
move to the correct sample.
SAMPLE MOVE
Disco Sample John Travolta Pointing move
Al Hanisim Hand Movement
Macareina Should I draw you a picture
Yehai A line Dancing type move
Jump around Dur
