Assessment Tool 3 1. Pump It Fitness is taking under our wings two trainees that will eventually work for us upon competition of their Certificate 3 in Fitness. The traineeship will last between 3 - 6 months and will be held at their college and the mentoring will be held at Pump It fitness. They will be trained by 2 experienced PT’s and team development activities will be used to encourage them to commit to the company’s goals, values and plans. They will also have the opportunity to further increase their learning from Advanced First Aid Classes and a Level 1 Strengthening and conditioning Course. This mentoring program will give the trainees the best possible training and therefore give us the best possibly trained staff with experience in the field in particular this business allowing for them to jump straight into work. The Mentoring Program The mentoring program will have a multiple ways it in which the trainees will be taught. First of all an induction to the program will be the start of the mentoring process and they will learn what are the necessary requirements of what is needed to know whilst working at Pump It fitness and how to present and promote a positive image. Through the use of presentations and seminars at college they will learn fair and ethical practice along with the knowledge of fitness. The trainees will have allocated days during the week that they formally attend these lectures required by the course. They will also be sent to another gym elsewhere for work experience for a week to be able to grasp a larger knowledge and understanding of the industry. The program will also include on the job training to allow for the learning of problem solving tasks in a real life situation. They will be partnered with one of the two experienced PT’s on staff and will swap every 4 weeks throughout the course of the traineeship and this can allow for feedback from team members to consolidate their learning from help criticism. This will allow for a broad view of information (more than one point of view) and for them to be able to respect the contribution of all participants in the traineeship. The PT’s will provide encourage to the trainees. Through out the course ahs many different methods used to teach the trainees and therefore provides variety that will in turn prevent boredom and keep enthusiasm high as much as possible.
