Valerie Bertinelli To Publish New Book (New York, New York – September 29, 2008) — After Valerie Bertinelli’s big success earlier this year with her #1 bestseller Losing It (8 weeks on the New York Times Hardcover Nonfiction Bestsellers list), agent Dan Strone at Trident Media Group has made another world rights deal with Leslie Meredith at Free Press for Finding It, Valerie’s conflicted, humorous, and highly personal tale of her search for answers to life’s big questions. Continuing her transformation, Valerie finds herself in a situation many women know too well: After having made a profound change in her life, in her case losing 40 pounds as the world watched, she wonders if this new, slimmer, healthier version of herself is for real. The questions that arise set her off on an exploration of the courage it takes to make such a profound change in her life, the faith required to maintain it, and the belief that she actually deserves it. Finding It is an optimistic story in trying times about believing in love and happiness, having faith that both are possible, and finding out that God does want you to enjoy life’s desserts even when you’re on a diet. Bertinelli continues in her role as a spokesperson for Jenny Craig and recently announced that she is working on a pilot for an as-yet untitled sitcom. She is currently in active development on a new talk show for Fall 2009 with CBS Television Distribution. Free Press plans to publish Finding It in November 2009. Free Press is an imprint of Simon & Schuster, Incorporated; a part of the CBS Corporation, a global leader in the field of general interest publishing, dedicated to providing the best in fiction and nonfiction for consumers of all ages, across all printed, electronic, and audio formats. Its divisions include Simon & Schuster Adult Publishing, Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, Simon & Schuster Audio, Simon & Schuster Digital, and international companies in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
