 EXPERIENCE
After my orthopaedic training in India, I came to the UK to enhance my knowledge and skills in Orthopaedics. I completed four years of training as a specialist registrar in the Northern Ireland Orthopaedic rotation based in Belfast. Then, I completed my year 5/6-specialist fellowship in Hand surgery in Nottingham. Northern Ireland is regarded as one of the best centres in Europe for training in trauma care including multiple trauma, gunshot injuries and complex trauma. Possessing the skills to perform most types of trauma and general elective surgery, I then added a new dimension to my abilities following my specialist training in Hand surgery. I then was appointed by the Wessex deanery as a year 6 Specialist Registrar at Portsmouth. During this period, I trained to widen my interest to include shoulder and elbow surgery. I worked for a year as a locum Consultant in St Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey in preparation for a substantive post. I have carried out regular medicolegal work since Jan 2001 as Fellow in Hand Surgery, Senior specialist registrar and Locum Consultant.
